That’s what I thought too - though I’m pretty much the same age as her and I wouldn’t be able to do it either. Certainly not nowadays (and I did competitive jive when I was a young ‘un!)

It's a shame because Ranvir was a total novice and has done so well.

I don’t think ranvir has done a CC. But agree her jive was weak.

No, she hasn’t. My gut feeling is that if she had they’d have have gone for theatre jazz, as I can’t see her pulling off street commercial, and she doesn’t seem suited to contempowaft. But mid-paced, controlled dances suit her well. Plus Gio was great in the Fosse Charleston with Georgia, and the jazz with Faye was absolutely exceptional.

It felt like it lacked "bounce" for me (armchair only). Seemed unenthusiastic as a result. I do love her ballroom but generally people who can only do 1 of the styles come unstuck (Jodie Kidd springs to mind...)

I've said from the beginning that Bill and NVWLS will be in the final and I'm not altering my opinion now. Based purely on the dance Maisie should win. I didn't like Bill's tango, it was too stompy. Nvwls was over marked yet again for the third week in a row so no votes from me. Gave all mine to Ranvir, think I was a little distracted and expecting Gio to whip out a bottle of JPG aftershave at any moment and present it to the camera. My fingers got all in a fluster and pressed 3 times. I'll be honest dd commented that she was not watching Ranvir at all. Amazingly she gave all her votes to Ranvir too.

It’s all very well loving Ranvir and Joe and dreaming of the long awaited and greatly deserved JV win, but that jive was really not good at all - embarrassing for a semifinal, I was going to say - so I haven’t sent a vote their way this week. A final without another disappointing dance from them I can live with... a final minus BVB, not so much.

Not a great semi final, 2 dances was probably a bit much for most of them. Surprisingly Dave Arch & co did a good version of Enter Sandman and it was great to hear something different. Sadly Bill’s dance didn’t match up , still voted for him though. Also voted for Ranvir although the jive wasn’t her dance. Thought Maisie was great, liked her CC. Vowel thief was ok in the rumba, Janette pitched it well so it didn’t seem too cringey. His Charleston was good but not as great as it was made out to be. Jamie’s time is surely up. Can’t call the dance off Jamie & Ranvir?

Voted for Ranvir. She did struggle with that jive, but I can see the judges want Harvey and Maisie for the final. Still find Maisie very irritating, and her first dance was over-marked.

It's a very weird year, very few up to the standard as other years. The only good ones now are Maisie and NVWLS. The rest are shite to be honest

Jamie wasnt good tonight (had a few good dances but done now) , Bill was meh (same as always really but obviously a likeable man hence the votes), Ranvir cannot dance away from Giovanni and has had no fast dances like the others have had except tonight and it proved why! Dreadful. Her dances have been gaziing and clingy.

Anyway I'm confused, Nicola left so how have they done this now? Is the final the same no?

I hope Ranvir and Bill in DO with Ranvir to go. Or Bill.

If there's a DO between Biscuits and Ranvir, the judges will send Biscuits home.

Don't worry about a JV win, I have a plan. I'm going to become famous over the next year & be so super-duper popular that they'll be begging me to do Strictly & I'll agree but insist that I must be partnered with Gio. I shall discover my inner dancer & go from "can wiggle hips a bit" to "which one is the pro again?!" over the course of the series. I'm still working on which songs we'll dance to but our show dance will be a jazz dance to "Maybe This Time" from Cabaret as a blatant plea for votes & most of our "story" will be about how many times JV has been in the final but not won. I've got it all sorted!

How can the pros who are out be sat so closely together? They filmed all the big group dances when they bubbled together before the show started so how can they have such close contact now? I'm confused!

Anyway I'm confused, Nicola left so how have they done this now? Is the final the same no?

They had pencilled in a five-person final as they knew there was a chance that at least one couple would have to withdraw during the course of the series. This way they allowed for two or three potential withdrawals, and they could still have a three or two couple final.

That confused me too.

The audience had to sit in family bubbles, so how come Amy & Alijaz could sit together? And in previous weeks (not sure about this week), Neil & Nancy? And how come Anton & Dianne could dance together last week?
