I always have favourite routines each series that I like and watch again. The one that has brought me the most surprise and joy was Jamie's samba. After that, Bill's QT and in third place, Ranvir's Paso. Because all three were unexpected. I like the element of surprise.
The ones I have rewatched that were technically good were Harvey's jive, Ranvir's foxtrot, Maisie's tango and Bill/Jamie's street commercials.
So all five have done enough for me personally to be in the final of a shorter run - a longer run with 3 more contestants and if Nicola was still in - would have changed things. I don't begrudge any of them being there although Clara could easily have been in a different dance draw.
I do think what everyone else says is fair enough though:
Ranvir's party latin is poor, the 'underconfident to performer' a tad patronising, much preferred the showmance/fauxmance narrative.
Jamie's ballroom is dodgy, the 'it's all Karen' got wearing, the exuberant puppy enthusiasm is nonetheless endearing except for the open mouth
Bill has plateaued since couple's choice, he has done well but is relying on the goodwill stored up from the earlier surprises.
Harvey just has good and comparatively bad dances but his 'bad' is still better than others' mediocre.
Maisie has been consistent throughout and looked lovely but, whether it was the music or chemistry, I felt very little watching her dance - I cannot explain it (it is not because of personality, she's my daughter's age so I feel quite protective, she just hasn't sold it as well as she hasn't needed to iyswim).
Who would I want to see win?
Whoever does the best showdance will get my 3 votes.
