I forgot what night it was! I'll have to watch on catch up tomorrow.

TheFlis12345 · 09/12/2020 21:19

I was shouting at the chickens to peck his eyes out! Grin

Smallsteps88 · 09/12/2020 21:31

That was hilariously shite.

What was the point of Alya on the roof? Geoff could have fallen without her there to watch.

Anyway. All crap. I’m done with Corrie.

HollywoodTease · 09/12/2020 21:32

I really don't understand why they spent so much time and effort building up a good storyline (Geoff and Yasmin) with great actors, only to run out of ideas at the end and turn the "bad guy" into a pantomime villain.

Aliya and Yasmin had been to the police station the night before, all they had to do was call 999 when they saw him outside the flat. Nope. OK then Yasmin can call the police when he's at the door? Nope. Surely she will dial 999 when she's in the house with him, then even if she can't speak the operator will hear? Nope.

Instead we get the ridiculous scene on the roof of a house that apparently is on fire, with Super-Aliya joining in for effect as the only way she could have got up there was if she could fly. FFS.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 09/12/2020 22:01

What the hell have I just watched? It was all totally nonsensical, not only that they have done a terrible disservice to the victims of coercive control and domestic abuse, why could we not have seen Geoff be arrested, charged and put behind bars? Instead we get a stupid Phelenesque ending, another pantomime villain, what a disappointing ending to what was an excellent storyline.

Clawdy · 09/12/2020 22:02

The chicken bit was good, and Yasmeen telling Geoff how pathetic he was. But we certainly didn't need Alya there!

eggandonion · 09/12/2020 22:06

Is he definitely dead and not just horribly injured?

Honeyroar · 09/12/2020 22:09

All the best baddies get up again, don’t they!

MaddieElla · 09/12/2020 22:14

What did i just watch?

Me and two DDs just sat laughing our heads off. All of them just causally having a chat on a pissing roof. All three of them. Grin

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 09/12/2020 22:20

Why did Toyah get all sneery about The Rovers back room? seemed out of character for her, I think it’s rather nice, love the wallpaper and shutters, obviously I like dentist room chic!

Smallsteps88 · 09/12/2020 22:22

I don’t understand why Leanne was staying in the rovers. Why not just stay the night at her own flat before she goes to see Stella?

And poor Simon. Another mum gone.

DipSwimSwoosh · 09/12/2020 22:24

WTF???

excelledyourself · 09/12/2020 22:26

@Smallsteps88

I thought that too. Just lost his brother, now living apart from his mum and stepdad, only to be left in the middle of a shitstorm between his dad, stepmum and cousin.
excelledyourself · 09/12/2020 22:28

Maybe Shona will adopt him Grin

Tonight's episode was one of the most bizarrely put together things I've ever seen. Lianne suddenly staying at the pub - why? And it took me ages to figure out who the 3rd person was on the roof. In fact, it thought it was an imaginary figure at one point, maybe in Yasmeen's confused state. Then I thought it was a boy because I'm sure Geoff referred to her as 'lad'.

Deadringer · 09/12/2020 23:15

Just checking in.

ChildOfFriday · 09/12/2020 23:15

I also initially thought that Alya was on the roof in Yasmeen's imagination, as it seemed so bizarre for her to suddenly appear there!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 09/12/2020 23:19

Bigamy is a very rare crime with significant sentences. But strangely rampant on the cobbles and in the Metcalfe family in particular. And so swiftly forgotten.

Beth is another Corrie bigamist! But again, long forgotten.

At least Ashley got a wee mention by Nick.

I did balk slightly at Nick describing him as his ‘best friend’ though. I know they were mates in the Adam Rickitt head days (Adam Nickitt, if you will?), but I remember at the time of Ashley’s death that the scriptwriters suddenly remembered this and slipped in a line from Nick saying he regretted that he’d hardly seen him since moving back.

I was confused when I read all this. Then just remembered I haven't watched tonight's yet. The hospital needs to review its security procedures. Note must not take this too seriously.

Honeyroar · 09/12/2020 23:24

I’m glad you worked out who Nick’s best friend that died was, because I had no idea!

I think Toyah was probably sneery in the Rovers about the deco because they’d probably ripped out what she had previously?

Yes poor Simon. Leanne can’t care for her living son, who is also grieving, not even for a few weeks, before running off??

I can’t understand why they even needed to drag Alya up on the roof anyway. They should’ve left her unconcious.

JamieLeeCurtains · 09/12/2020 23:27

I think Corrie needs to review its writing procedures.

bloodyhairy · 10/12/2020 00:58

The protest was the most cringeworthy TV I've seen in a long while.

PoloNeckKnickers · 10/12/2020 06:41

I haven't watched yet but I gather that Geoff fell from a great height? He'll no doubt survive. John Stape, Phelan and Billy all survived miraculously after plunging from a roof/cliff.

Izzy24 · 10/12/2020 07:46

How did Kev work out that Debbie is in league with Ray?

Did they miss a bit out?
