Is it just me or is she really fake?

OP posts:

Yes that poor rabbit again. They clearly aren’t exactly empathetic when it comes to animals other than the dog I guess.

lovelemoncurd · 03/12/2020 19:02

I hadn't realised she had said that about nurses. I'm a nurse and now I wish that when she passed me coming downstairs in a furniture shop in Leeds I had stuck my foot out!

Frenchdressing · 03/12/2020 20:11

I used to like her but this programme is awful. That house they want to build us horrible,

Also that poor wild rabbit....😭

BowlerHatPowerHat · 03/12/2020 21:49

The rabbit escaped... then they caught it again!
On her Twitter, she said it was injured when they rescued it. They only kept it a few weeks til it had recovered.
But that doesn't quite fit with the timeline we're seeing - could be the editing though.

silverfonze · 03/12/2020 22:02

Just realised this programme is coming across more like that they're on an extended holiday / sabbatical.

Do Sarah and Graeme not need to work? It's comint across like early retirement

longwayoff · 03/12/2020 22:37

They are working. In addition to their various property interests, C4 is paying them for this production.

Benjispruce2 · 04/12/2020 07:34

I like her. I like that she looks normal and doesn’t bother much with being particularly presentable. He seems a bit arrogant though. Probs this tv show is paying for the house!

myusernamewastakenbyme · 04/12/2020 08:25

My dh worked with her on an episode of Property Ladder years ago...he said she was awful...very arrogant and rude.

BowlerHatPowerHat · 04/12/2020 08:31

I like her. Though this series is just missing the mark somehow.
They are experienced house builders so limited 'drama' on that front. Which is why, I think, they have included the cheese making, bee keeping etc. Will they be able to make cider? Will the cheese work out ok? Can ordinary folk do this?
Sounds like one of the kids get animals frequently and then get bored of them.
Escape to the Chateau do it so much better.

alliscalm · 04/12/2020 18:04

My husband has also worked with Sarah Beeney and found her to be completely professional and focussed but no nonsense. I agree with other posters that this might not be her finest TV hour but it is new material, not 50 minutes of a repeat with a brief update at the end a la Location etc.

alliscalm · 04/12/2020 18:06

Sorry I should have written Beeny!

Joynot · 05/12/2020 08:31

These type of programmes are usually my favourite, but this one is dragging on. They could have done 10 minutes on the planning issues, there’s just not that much material for an hours show.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/12/2020 21:00

The voiceover man is so dire. He can’t decide what accent to go for, normal RP, fake West Country or American/Irish.

Yes! I was thinking that. He's jumping from accent to accent.
bobbikato · 09/12/2020 20:51

So watching this and after glamping drama it seems her dream house is some flat pack concrete design,AIBU but for 1.5 million to spend i would expect ... huge basement with furnace, swimming pool with glass dome, astronomy tower, snooker library room, victorian ice house and kichen set up,wisteria gothic fascia .etc.
Why she does not just stay put in the house on site - can not see this block house being much better, other than more space .

DobbyTheHouseElk · 09/12/2020 21:00

How long did it take them to build this? It’s been summer twice.

Do we know is this house actually built yet?

SarahBeenysBikerJacket · 09/12/2020 21:34

They started building autumn last year. The house is watertight but that's about it, roof is on but no internal works. Think they are aiming for April next year to complete

salsamummy · 09/12/2020 21:47

I thought their budget was £500,000 which we thought was a tiny budget.

Cecillie · 09/12/2020 21:53

But but but ... how did they get plumbed hot water for that camping bathroom and where did the toilet flush to
And why did they not bath the dog properly to get all the concrete off ?

CoolShoeshine · 10/12/2020 02:36

There’s bound to be at least one more series of this..

Molly333 · 10/12/2020 06:49

We love it , it's escapism tv and this far no covid so we are thrilled . I like her too shes a strong womsn

Caelano · 10/12/2020 20:51

Jeez all that concrete! Hardly environmentally friendly is it.

MrsMiaWallis · 10/12/2020 20:54

They've built a driveway across three fields. It's so horribly ostentatious. No wonder the locals hate it.

WotWouldCJDo · 10/12/2020 21:14

I can’t get my head around why she thought this might be a good idea.
