New ’un.

Whose turn on the storyline merry-go-round will it be this week?

I also feel they haven’t shown consistency with the characterisation. Sally and Alya wouldn’t have stammered and looked and sounded uncertain as they did then.

Smallsteps88 · 04/12/2020 21:05

Am I right in thinking the prosecution barrister isn’t representing Geoff by representing the CPS? So she isn’t his solicitor. It’s quite strange that she is being so personally angry/affronted/aggressive towards all the defence witnesses.

Smallsteps88 · 04/12/2020 21:05

By= but!

Housewife2010 · 04/12/2020 21:09

What did Annie Lennox hide in the white car?

Smallsteps88 · 04/12/2020 21:12

I don’t know! That was a bit of a random scene thrown in amongst the funeral and trial.

Roussette · 04/12/2020 21:16

I thought Annie Lennox picked something up from the foot well?

Smallsteps88 · 04/12/2020 21:17

Whose car was it? It was a very old vectra. I was surprised it had central locking!

Honeyroar · 04/12/2020 21:19

Did she hide something? I thought she’d stolen something? Perhaps it was The Eurythmics Greatest Hits!

Notrightbutok · 04/12/2020 21:35

Nick's son gets on my nerves.

Was she putting something under a pedal to cause an accident? That's what I thought she was doing.
SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/12/2020 21:39

Paula Wilcox is playing an excellent role - and so is Ian Bartholemew.

Corrie used to be full of excellent actors but the standard has slipped a lot recently - but these two are very good indeed.

thenightsky · 04/12/2020 21:41

I though she was removing something from the driver's side floor.

nildesparandum · 04/12/2020 22:08

Forgive me if I am wrong, but how is Imran allowed to be Yasmeen's defence lawyer?
I am on Yasmeen's side but IRL I always thought you could not have a legal representative who was related to you even by marriage, which Imran is.

thenightsky · 04/12/2020 22:10

And he's not a barrister.

Honeyroar · 04/12/2020 22:13

I’m sure you’re right. Wasn’t he dragged in at the last minute as her real defence had gone awol (was it Paula?)

Clawdy · 04/12/2020 22:44

The Oliver memorial service should have been heartbreaking, and I was prepared to be upset, but it left me strangely unmoved. Something about the scenes just didn't work.

DipSwimSwoosh · 04/12/2020 23:06

That was a spoiler. Many of us don't read soap news. I wouldn't have known.
I thought Yasmeen and Elaine were both awesome. Great script writing.

Anyone can represent you. The only limitation is if someone on the jury knows you.
StillCoughingandLaughing · 05/12/2020 01:19

Sorry if I’m way off track here but I have a feeling we’re going to have another suicide story soon from Leanne as I’m sure I remember when all the leavers - Bethany, Robert etc were announced, Jane Danson was also said to be leaving?

I don’t remember that - but given that the other characters you mention have been gone for the best part of a year, I’d say probably not.

It's bugging me where I recognise that horrible barrister from

She’s been in loads of things, but if you’re an Emmerdale fan, you may recognise her as Carl’s mother (the one who was accidentally given Jimmy’s sperm and then just randomly handed her son over to him one day. Sounds even weirder when you type it out.)

Just looked her up and it turns out she's got form - she was Nasty Nathan's barrister back in 2017!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/12/2020 01:38

That barrister is what I would have imagined a female version of Geoff 30+ Years ago to have looked like.
She's obviously a brilliant actress though. I felt like jumping in a screening and well chinning her, not to put too finer point on it.
Also agree Yasmeen and Elaine were Fab.

DioneTheDiabolist · 05/12/2020 01:51

though Geoff's barrister presented a pretty unconvincing cross examination.

Aaarrrggg. This really pissed me off. She is the barrister for the prosecution. Corrie writers have made her more "Geoff's defence barrister".Xmas AngryXmas Hmm

yourhairiswinterfire · 05/12/2020 01:56

@Housewife2010

What did Annie Lennox hide in the white car?
I thought she'd planted drugs or something. I wonder whose car it is, does Kev have one? Is she trying to get back at Abi, knowing she's an ex drug addict, for blabbing about the construction?

A bit extreme, but Annie Lennox and Ray were talking about 'sorting her out' the other night. (I'm rubbish at guessing, so I'm probably way off)

TheRogueApostrophe · 05/12/2020 08:34

It's funny how we never see anyone's car parked on the street until it's essential to some random storyline 😂

I don't get the Ray fancying. His voice really sets my teeth on edge. That nasally drawl 😲
