New ’un.

Whose turn on the storyline merry-go-round will it be this week?

@Roussette

I think like pp that the old lady he took to the bistro is the one who gave him the pass

Sorry am I being a bit thick but the woman he took to the bistro was about 95, why would she have a pass to the hospital??! I am 😂

Also, not sure how far the hospital is... but why didn't Tim just rush to see Elaine, and why did he just dismiss that she saw Geoff, also knowing he used to work in hospital radio. Plus the hospital will have cameras so if he swiped someone's pass, this could be ascertained, and he'll be sunk.

Not sure why they are taking this lying down

No idea why she would have a pass to the hospital but, as explained above, I thought her name was Pauline and he said he'd be with her in 10 minutes, as though it was someone he was helping. Corrie are hardly known for being realistic, and it was just a suggestion due to that. I'm not sure the pp and I deserve to be laughed at for making it Confused
MsMiaWallace · 04/12/2020 08:48

The name on the pass said Pauline. I'm assuming Pauline is his new lady friend? The one Alya spoke to when Geoff returned home & caught Tim & Alya?? & she said she'd make her own mind up about him?

The actor playing Imran is wasted in Corrie isn't he?

I think they'll initially find Yasmeen guilty then they'll be an appear without fresh evidence/witness.

The new lady friend's name is Christine
MsMiaWallace · 04/12/2020 09:17

Oh ok! I've lost track with Geoff lol!

Roussette · 04/12/2020 09:38

Sorry Eggsfried didn't intend to laugh at you, honest! I have a mental block with names so didn;t pick that up. Apologies.

I laugh at so much with Corrie, don't take it personally... please, it's just me thinking out loud!

VanGoghsDog · 04/12/2020 09:44

I don't think anyone is taking if lying down - we don't know that Elaine has even told anyone he was there.

Wonder how Geoff found her, given that the police couldn't!

It's ok, all is forgiven Smile I may be completely wrong about the old lady's name being Pauline anyway, and I agree that it doesn't make sense for her to have a pass! If it is her Corrie will probably come up with a ridiculous explanation for why she has one Grin
Roussette · 04/12/2020 10:38

Yes exactly! My brain has shrunk to the size of a small baked bean during lockdown and I can't even remember the names of the regulars half the time!

LionLily · 04/12/2020 10:45

I think the police did find Elaine, didn't they ring Tim to tell him she was in the hospital?
I'm sure Imran can find some legal loophole that will deem the gift of the business to have been accepted in bad faith or some such legalese.
I keep thinking that the police were going to rush in when Geoff was in Elaine's hospital room, was desperate for it to be a set-up.

VanGoghsDog · 04/12/2020 10:56

Yeah, eventually, but given Tim only just found out and isn't speaking to Geoff, he's not likely to have told him where she is.

MsMiaWallace · 04/12/2020 10:59

Maybe Geoff put her into care?

When Roy was chirping off about the development I thought what's he on about, he'd do well out of the extra business!

VanGoghsDog · 04/12/2020 11:02

Well, she didn't say Geoff put her into care. She said she had a breakdown and was found crying by a member of the public. I'm pretty sure she would have told Tim if Geoff had put her into care, and be less surprised about him lurking about as she would know he knew where she is!

Smallsteps88 · 04/12/2020 11:04

Elaine said she was driving and suddenly couldn’t breathe, she pulled off the road and strangers found her. Presumably they called an ambulance and she was taken to the psychiatric ward. I don’t think Geoff had anything to do with her being there.

At the risk of causing further disagreement, I thought the old woman’s name was Doris Wink I think Pauline was just a random name they gave someone at the hospital who is supposed to know and trust Geoff (and as such is less significant than she’s become on this thread! Grin)

MerylStropp · 04/12/2020 11:46

I think Pauline may have been a former colleague from hospital radio but would have to watch again and zoom in on the pass to be sure.

Haha, ok fair enough. I wasn't necessarily trying to argue that the old woman's name was Pauline (I'm in no way sure it was, and it seems that it wasn't!), just that it wasn't such a ridiculous suggestion that the pass was from her to deserve the crying laughing emoji, especially due to what Geoff said at the start of the phone call. However, I may have been being oversensitive as it looks like @Roussette was laughing at the silly storyline rather than the suggestion itself, which I can't argue with Grin

People are getting quite passionate on here today!!

Apologies if I've been a bit of a twat this morning I think I just took @Roussette's post the wrong way
Roussette · 04/12/2020 12:31

Don't worry Eggs no problem ! We just want Geoff behind bars/humiliated/thrown to the women on the street/slipping on a banana skin
(delete as appropriate Grin)

Definitely! Though like a pp said I think, this being Corrie, that it's likely that Yasmeen will initially be found guilty and Geoff will be unbearably smug before some new evidence comes to light to prove her innocence.
woodhill · 04/12/2020 12:52

It's very silly

What about the stuff with Yasmeen seeking the police before all this, why is that not evidence against Geoff. Was it tell Clare or something?

Scene in hospital just beyond belief, where are the staff, come on

Smallsteps88 · 04/12/2020 13:18

Yes that sounds familiar!

Yes Claire’s law! I’d forgotten about that. No one on Corrie has mentioned it either. Hopefully the writers haven’t forgotten and it will come out in the trial.
eggandonion · 04/12/2020 13:38

Isn't Doris the Welsh neighbour on Gavin and Stacey?
Maybe Imran,Adam and Dr Ali could have a spin off show, and look after Bertie at the same time. Whilst righting wrongs. Has the health centre closed, it is never mentioned.
I am not surprised people are bewildered by corrie, it used to be much easier to follow.
