Last thread here, but it was never going to last for tonight!

I think CQ is suuuppper competitive and although talented, isn't up to say, Debbie McGee's standard. I think she was expecting gushing praise rather than the gentle critique that she's been receiving. I think other PPs have mentioned her reputation for being a bit difficult so maybe I've been unfairly influenced by that.

iklboogeymum · 01/11/2020 00:11

@kbx201 - Baron Von Biscuits, aka Jaimie.

Tuliptulip · 01/11/2020 00:30

I’m watching in catch up - not sure if anyone has commented on Shirley’s dress? It’s lovely in concept but her shoulder straps are digging in in what looks like really quite a painful manner, and her cleavage is a bit distracting!

FagashJackie · 01/11/2020 03:06

I loved it all and really enjoyed all of their dances.
Joe Varney is by far and away the best man dancer, he always makes the women look and, feel special.
I do love them all though.

JESUS WEPT WHAT A COLOUR

Two fluorescent highlighter pens I thought. I do like this couple though... hope they don’t go too soon.

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 01/11/2020 09:17

Highlighter pens or raving chicken.

The frocks should be part of the whole experience but they shouldn’t distract you completely from the dance. And they really shouldn’t burn holes in your retinas.

But I do like him because he is smiley and enthusiastic.

billysboy · 01/11/2020 09:29

Loving Bill and Oti

@stillsomewhatsheldonesque

Oh my Christ.

Just google a quokka.

Want one. 😍

They are delightful aren't they?

The world's smiliest creatures.

I am assured by someone who has met one that they bit like buggery!

What’s a couple of missing fingers when you can gaze at a little face like that Grin SchadenfreudePersonified ?

ppeatfruit · 01/11/2020 10:36

Did anyone else think that Joe Varney's fond kiss was a touch too fond? Lucky girl!! xxx

I liked it a lot IMO it's MILES better ,on the whole, than it has been for years. Craig is fairer and calmer tempered. The music sounds better. There's much more training detail etc. etc.

Maireas · 01/11/2020 11:00

I think there's a problem with the Couple's Choice (contemporarwafty) because it usually tells the story of triumph against adversity, so how can you mark it down?
(you were marginalised/disabled but it wasn't very good so it's a 2). However, what would someone like Jamie Laing do? A dance about biscuit based privilege?

DigOutThoseLemonHandWipes · 01/11/2020 11:20

However, what would someone like Jamie Laing do? A dance about biscuit based privilege?

A wafty dance moving piece about trouble at t'mill biscuit factory because it's sooo hard to get the chocolate to stay on the hobnobs.
A musical theatre expose of the down side of privilege - I'm just poor little rich boy I can't tell if people love me for me or for my money - jazz hands?

DigOutThoseLemonHandWipes · 01/11/2020 11:24

I just hope BVB makes it to musicals week to see if they are able to resist the temptation.to make him the Artful (jammy) Dodger.

MabelChiltern1 · 01/11/2020 11:34

I was shocked to see Maisie with her arms folded in front of the judges.... she looked [ comment redacted] Grin

EvilRingahBitch · 01/11/2020 11:46

What do we think Bill’s chance is of winning? He’s a very good dancer by comedy contestant standards - probably at the Chris Hollins level or better. He’s only 55 and not seriously overweight which would make him the oldest winner by far but not so old that we’d expect him to crock himself before the final.

To some extent it depends how many people make it to the final - if it’s 2 or 3 then the public vote can’t necessarily save you - if it’s 4 then the public can probably get you into the final in the teeth of the judges.

bibliomania · 01/11/2020 11:50

I agree that it's hard to mark down the couple's choice, which is why I feel Nicola had played that card a bit to early, at a time when she was fairly safe. It might have been of more strategic value further down the line. (Not saying this was Nicola's own decision, obviously. I agree with whoever said the producers wouldn't have wanted an early boot for her).

Ellmau · 01/11/2020 11:53

He’s only 55

Really? I would have put him in his 60s.

CounsellorTroi · 01/11/2020 12:03

I thought Motsi’s dress looked like she was sitting behind it rather than wearing it!

awaynboilyurheid · 01/11/2020 12:07

Loved Bill and Oti, thought it really was his dance. Thought JJ was wooden not his dance at all although he seems lovely and I liked his dance last week. Won't mention Caroline as I got into a bit of trouble on here last week so I'll say as I did last week she is light on her feet and that's it. Love Johannes! really like Harvey and Jeanette too. Maisie's dance was very good but her attitude is difficult to like, I get the feeling she thinks the glitterball is hers already.

EvilRingahBitch · 01/11/2020 12:08

Yes I know, that’s why I checked and pointed it out. He’s younger than that haircut leads you to believe.

Talking of age, in the very unlikely event that Clara won she’d be our oldest ever female winner. Ashley Roberts would also have been our oldest ever female winner.

Gooseysgirl · 01/11/2020 12:15

I'm not sure Bill will do so well in the Latins... can you imagine him doing the rumba? I do love him though, and hope he goes far! Maisie was fab last night! But we gave our votes to Bill, Jamie, and Jason.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 01/11/2020 12:16

Tulip, I thought the extremely thin straps made it look a bit like dresses that were popular in the early 2000s.

Motsi's did look like it would stand up on its own. Grin

Whaat? In conversation with my mum this morning I was saying how good Bill was considering he must be about 70...Blush I still like him but suddenly he looks slightly less of a good dancer...

Samcro · 01/11/2020 12:37

we voted for bill(my choice) biscuits and JJ.
I was not keen on the couples choice, (but then I never am) so didn't vote for N.
I see anton and partner(sorry name escapes me) in DO,
only cos every one is fed up with politicians at the moment.
