I think that's why I'm not massively keen on contempowaft, the story always has to be a bit miserable so you can overcome it! Now Nicola has made street commercial like that too (as opposed to Dev throwing Dianne around while painted blue).

I preferred Faye's, where the story was presumably "look at how good I am at Fosse".

Still think Chucky Venn's is the best Couple's Choice we've had.

Maireas Ref. marking 'contemporary' dance. If you're a good judge you judge the dance and the skill with which it is danced. I suppose the emotional side of it counts too but not fully.

IMO the worse problem is marking contestants who are disabled , they don't start on a level playing field do they?

So, I have now finished watching Glee so have watched all of Max's performances - yeah, he is not a ringer he played the lead performer of the ultimate show choir so should have been the best of the best...his dancing was very basic and stilted in the performances! Were the Wanted big in America? Is that why he got the part as they were trying to attract viewers? Can't see any other reason why they would cast a British popstar who couldn't dance very well (he spoke in a US accent) for that role

Yes, Caroline seems to have lost enthusiasm, but maybe she's just tired. Jason has such a lovely happy demeanour, doesn't he? I think both him and Clara seem marked down to me.

Hopefully Oti will choreograph a soft, romantic - rather than sexy - rumba for Bill!

I see him wanting to master the technique so hopefully there'll be a bit of fluidity in the transitions and proper arm placement

He was only in the last series - not a huge part at all. I had never watched it before so binge-watched the whole lot! It did get a bit boring by the end of series 2 but surprisingly picked up during series 3 and then some of it was set in New York in series 4 onwards which made it much better! Series 6 (which Max was in) was pretty shit though...felt like they were randomly trying up loose ends nice ending though

Just had a browse through comments on the BBC Strictly Facebook page, showing photos of all the couples before last nights dances - and someone had commented on who was evicted . FFS, why do people feel the need to do that?! Won't be looking at any thread comments other than on here in future!

Yes I totally agree with all PP comments about Jason, he seems so lovely and clearly wants to try his best.

FWIW I think Anton knows he doesn’t have much chance in the comp so he might as well do the showier numbers with more potential for “comedy” and props . Shudder.

I love watching Jason dance. His real enthusiasm and huge smile are infectious. I wonder how he'll look in the ballrooms / more serious dances? If Luba can get him to nail the frame I think he'll look very elegant.

God I can't bear Katja! Nicola seems lovely but meh rhythmic gymnastics dance. Loved Maisie, Bill, Caroline (she couldn't wait to leave looked like she was taking her mic pack off while Claude was still talking) Jackie can go for many reasons not just because she can't dance.
Nvwls can go cos I don't like him ditto BvB. Wanted to love JJ and Amy but no. American guy hopeless but lovely. Can't remember the rest
