Looking forward to this!

TheRealJeanLouise · 18/10/2020 20:58

I hate a political drama.
But oh! How I love Hugh Laurie......

unique1986 · 18/10/2020 21:04

Yeh could do without the politics lol

The PM is very Mrs Thatcher isn't she?

Crinkle77 · 18/10/2020 21:48

@the80sweregreat

The PM is very Mrs Thatcher isn't she?
That's what I thought. But of a cliche.
FlatScreenTV01 · 18/10/2020 21:51

I am confused. Hugh went to a prison and woman said she knew his daughter. Confused as to what else has happened.

CaptainMyCaptain · 18/10/2020 21:52

It is quite confusing. I'm not sure what's going on with the prison or why the lawyer is now helping the journalist.

Mochudubh · 18/10/2020 21:58

All the relationships are a bit convenient aren't they?

FlatScreenTV01 · 18/10/2020 21:59

I'm glad it isn't just me. Bizarre

CaptainMyCaptain · 18/10/2020 22:00

It's just starting to make sense seeing the two aides/advisors are in it together. Not sure where Margaret fits in.

ageingdisgracefully · 18/10/2020 22:00

I'm confused as well.

Crinkle77 · 18/10/2020 22:00

I was a bit bored, characters unlikeable. I'll give it another try next week to see if it gets more exciting but if not won't bother watching any more.

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2020 22:00

A lot of double crossing going on!
Hugh Laurie is excellent and the talk show DJ reminds me of James O Brian a bit!
Other than that I'm a bit confused.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 18/10/2020 22:04

Loved it! Really clever scripting and weaving of the relationships.

TheRealJeanLouise · 18/10/2020 22:11

Yeah I was confused and a bit bored. Wish I was watching Hugh in something else....

hopeishere · 18/10/2020 22:15

It didn't grab me. Might try it again in catch up later this week.

Clawdy · 18/10/2020 22:27

It somehow felt too long. When I find myself glancing at the clock, I know it's not working for me. The prison scenes were gripping, but the office scenes seemed endless.

Mollypolly2610 · 18/10/2020 22:37

I didn’t watch it closely enough and now I’m confused and don’t know if I will rewatch.

senua · 18/10/2020 22:37

Well, that was fun. An hour of unpleasant people being unpleasant to each other. Not sure I'll watch next week.

I don't understand old hands (like PM, Laurence, Editor) being manipulated by their 12 year old assistants. Surely, the OH are more savvy than that?

Egghead68 · 18/10/2020 22:39

Cliches galore but good fun, I thought.

Patricia Hodge has aged a lot since I last saw her.

Crinkle77 · 18/10/2020 22:40

Funnily enough @senua that's what I said. No likeable characters and nobody to root for.

Egghead68 · 18/10/2020 22:41

I don't understand old hands (like PM, Laurence, Editor) being manipulated by their 12 year old assistants

The 12-year-olds know where all the bodies are buried.

TheSpottedZebra · 18/10/2020 22:48

Not sure where Margaret fits in. She was meeting with the (female) driver in the stairwell. I think they kissed, but maybe not. So the driver is informing on Laurence too, I guess.

The bit about where shall I pick you up from tomorrow morning was so pointed, so does she disapprove of his affair?

DilysPrice · 18/10/2020 22:56

Not a huge fan of David Hare but will happily watch Hugh Laurie in anything.
Did slightly feel that the driver was being set up to play The Entire Working Class which might come to annoy me.
