Old thread full, so here we go again.

Going back to the last point on the old thread, I agree that they’re writing well for Tracy now. She’s still got her hard side, but they’ve made her caring in a straight talking way, rather than just a full-on bitch.

I much prefer Evelyn to Blanche!

Roussette · 10/10/2020 16:27

Oh no! I don't!
Blanche just had a face that could make me smile! There's a bit of a mean edge to Evelyn that is always hovering..

IHaveBrilloHair · 10/10/2020 16:30

I wish Craig would shut his mouth, everytime he speaks he just leaves his mouth open afterwards, unlike Seb who manages to speak in a weird way without even opening his mouthConfused

eatsleepread · 10/10/2020 16:32

Yup. Evelyn is just mean and rude. Blanche could pull it off much better.

Smallsteps88 · 10/10/2020 16:37

I cringed at Yasmeen's laugh. A toe-curling moment indeed.

Me too!

It’s cracking me up how Craig is sent to every single police call on the street, and without a partner! He’s just joined- he wouldn’t be left on his own to arrest two men or tell a woman she has to identify a body. And how awful was the way he presented that to Eileen? So stupid.

I don't miss the doughy faced old Todd, and don't give a shit about the new one. Or his mother.

I don't find Evelyn funny. She's no Blanche, that's for sure.

Grin Doughy faced
Roussette · 10/10/2020 16:53

And there will never be another double act like Deidre and Blanche. Miss that sort of thing on Corrie.
It just came across as a typical mother/daughter thing and hearing Deidre saying ""MOTHER!" was always after Blanche had gone too far!

woodhill · 10/10/2020 16:56

Loved Blanche. Great character

Yes, Evelyn has no-one to bounce off like that in her little family world.

Fizz is no Deidre. Dame Evelyn needs an actual foil.

Akire · 10/10/2020 17:01

I don’t care about the new Todd either, leave it be Eileen! Now Billy will get involved and other guy will get jealous, he will let the bad guys know where he is to get rid of him.

The pub should be going into administration at this rate. One drink a
Week if they are lucky. I know they are behind on covid really time but pubs have been open for ages with SD.

Not sure what’s happening with Dev and the Robbery. Surely a business would have a proper security door at the back not something can be broken into in 5min. Maybe his son has done it for the booze fans and money to impress his school mates. It be the closest he has come to a story line since?

Did love Tim and Sally they do make lovely couple. Compared to Gary’s wedding it was party or the year.

eddiemairswife · 10/10/2020 17:36

I wonder if we will find out what exactly happened to Todd after he ran off, leaving Summer in the bushes.

Roussette · 10/10/2020 17:54

Yes on the pub, and would a wine merchant give them all that wine to taste/glug in these days and times? They only sell about one glass a month!

Blanche at Christmas Dinner talking about Deidre's turkey: "This turkey is so dry, it could choke a camel"
😂
and
“Good looks are a curse Deirdre. You and Kenneth should count yourselves lucky.”
On Deirdre’s new sunglasses – “There’s a fine line between Jackie O and Roy Orbison.”
😂

As far as Tim and Sally's wedding... I was so glad they didn't do the ceremony. Because it is ridiculous that the bride can't kiss the groom and it makes it weird, like it did at Gary and Maria's wedding

ajandjjmum · 10/10/2020 21:09

Was nice news!

ellenanora5 · 10/10/2020 21:27

Place marking until I catch up, couldn't find the the new thread Smile

desperatehousewife21 · 10/10/2020 21:53

God Yasmeens laugh was the worst moment of her Corrie career, I’m not joking. It was so awfully forced. I wondered for a moment if she was doing it as a joke.

Todd/ gangsta granny storyline bloody awful.

I actually like Evelyn, no one will be Blanche but I’m not wanting a replacement. She’s good as she is.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 10/10/2020 22:02

Yasmeens laugh was like Shona's. Fake and forced. Maybe she's caught the brain damage Hmm

ajandjjmum · 10/10/2020 22:55

It seemed to be the laugh of a woman on the edge of a breakdown - and thought that might be what she was portraying? Maybe I have too much faith in the writers! Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 11/10/2020 00:32

@Roussette
Blanches best line was when she was talking about Roy and Hayley.
"Well, he's a loony and she's a man".

SoPanny · 11/10/2020 06:36

Late by a few days here but bravo to Corrie for addressing Craig’s massive weight loss at last, when he was speaking to Faye at the wedding dressed as a “Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush”-era Chris Evans.

Roussette · 11/10/2020 07:09

Brillo
😂😁

StillCoughingandLaughing · 11/10/2020 08:39

Liz dressed in slutty outfit: ‘I’m just off for a job interview!’
Tracy: ‘What’s the job?’
Blanche: ‘Prostitute!’

Blanche could get away with saying stuff that today would have ( some) viewers outraged by. She didn't care if it was insulting or politically incorrect. These days you can't say anything for fear of upsetting someone, even if it's true!
For instance Craig's weight loss, I'd be saying something like 'he's got to run round in the shower now just to get wet'
But no doubt that would insult him/ someone as a mark against his weight?
Maybe it's a northern thing?

eatsleepread · 11/10/2020 10:52

Blanche is best!

Roussette · 11/10/2020 11:33

Hahaha I am laughing at the 'nasty gash'!
The thing is... it was often Deidre's reactions, her face that made it even more hilarious.

This is classic... look from 2mins onwards.

Blanche - where are you going?
Deidre - Peter's going to an AA meeting for support
Blanche - Oh, I'll come. Anything's better than Loose Women 🤣🤣

The whole thing is hilarious
