Old thread full, so here we go again.

Going back to the last point on the old thread, I agree that they’re writing well for Tracy now. She’s still got her hard side, but they’ve made her caring in a straight talking way, rather than just a full-on bitch.

I had to laugh at Todd’s gulp. Not a great first display of acting on national telly.

SoPanny · 09/10/2020 22:53

@EggsFried

Yes, I think that's right about Lucy. Peter had an affair with her when he was with Shelley, then married both of them Grin
We’ve all been there

Oh so my internet cut out after the third break, I missed part 4 but...
I flippin loved this episode. It was brilliant!
Highlights

  • Todd's new head. But the same mannerisms. Amazing!
  • the idea of masks being for walking in somewhere, love it, and Evelyn saying 'bleurgh' as she took hers off cos it's too hard to talk in
  • David's joke about 'it'll come'
  • there was a Karen joke which I know is a mumsnet thing but has passed me by
  • Yasmeen's laugh
What a cracker! Great entertainment
TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 09/10/2020 23:15

I liked Evelyn's joke about the locksmith being in her bra Grin

DipSwimSwoosh · 09/10/2020 23:33

Yes!
And the socially distanced standoff between Todd and the wrong un. Really angry, but not enough to break the 2m rule!

aproblemsharedisaprobleminhalf · 10/10/2020 01:17

Does anyone think they'll be anymore on the break in at Devs shop? Or do you think it was just mainly to be aimed at Scott?

Smallsteps88 · 10/10/2020 01:19

I wondered if it was the boy who Asha is seeing getting back at dev for being opposed to him and Asha. Although that story seems to have gone quiet.

HappydaysArehere · 10/10/2020 01:21

Agree Shona needs to get a cure post haste. The script has her acting like a silly child and not as someone suffering with brain damage. It is now becoming boring.
Can’t accept the new Todd as he isn’t remotely like the original actor who was one of the best characters on Corrie at the time.

As for Leanne, her continual aggressive reactions were evident before Oliver’s illness. It’s getting tedious and should be sorted out before she becomes disliked. Saw her on that skating programme and was surprised at how pleasant she was in real life. Poor girl having to depend on script writers.

PoloNeckKnickers · 10/10/2020 07:49

The way things are in Corrie now, that gulp might just be enough to win new Todd a soap award.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 10/10/2020 08:00

Linus Roche - He definitely played Ken's son as well but not Peter.

He did play Peter as a child. However, he also played Ken’s long-lost son Laurence as an adult. Bill Roache’s younger son (who played his own dad in Road to Coronation Street) played Ken’s grandson; Laurence’s son James.

Laurence was also supposed to have a daughter. I wonder if one day she’ll discover a need to get to know her grandad (i.e. when they need a new Barlow)?

Raging it’s nit one of Ryan Thomas’ gorgeous brothers playing new head Todd!

So not just changing face, but changing race?

Last nights episode did have me giggling a few times, Mary and Sean's scene made me laugh!

'Well excuse me for being a Romantic' 🤣

Evelyn always makes me laugh shes so blunt but witty!

eggandonion · 10/10/2020 09:00

I wish Jason would return, having discovered two half brothers, they could live in an apartment together and be friends with Ryan and Dr Ali. And have a fun time, like an extended Men Behaving Badly.
I wonder if Sarah will recognise Todd, and stop him pretending to be dead?
If I was Billy I'd dump Paul, become celibate, return to the nice vicarage, and send Summer off to a university far away.

Smallsteps88 · 10/10/2020 09:09

So not just changing face, but changing race?

Good point! Grin I hadn’t even considered that. I’d happily accept Todd had changed race if it meant we got a Thomas brother.

MsMiaWallace · 10/10/2020 09:16

Evelyn has got to be the best character!
Enjoyed her taking advantage of Jenny's wine samples!

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 10/10/2020 13:11

Was Dev really broken into? He’s been having money troubles, that’s usually a precursor to Insurance Fraud in a soap

Roussette · 10/10/2020 13:16

My thoughts exactly.

And since when does it happen that you ring the police and half an hour later they've caught someone?!

Smallsteps88 · 10/10/2020 13:17

He came into the pub later and said the police had caught the culprits breaking into somewhere else so I assumed it was legitimate.

ParkheadParadise · 10/10/2020 13:27

I know someone on here will know the answer to this.

When did Craig join the police force?🚔🚔
I've watched Corrie for year's and thought he was a volunteer or something like that.

eggandonion · 10/10/2020 14:24

I think he may have joined the proper police after being a volunteer type, there was a kerfuffle about his dad in prison?
My daughter reckons the more weight he loses the worse his acting.
Where is manicurist girl, has she left?

Do you mean Alina?
eggandonion · 10/10/2020 14:36

Yes, I was trying to remember her name! Seb was around when the twins emigrated, but did she leave the flat share? Sometimes I think I watch about a tenth of it!

JamieLeeCurtains · 10/10/2020 14:48

Craig started out as a Special Constable (volunteer), and then somehow applied successfully to join the 'actual' Police.

I remember one of my best friends applying to join the Police and she had to be very physically and medically fit, very well prepared, and her family life was scrutinised in a lot of detail. It also took a long time - 6 months? - for the whole process to be completed. Craig meanwhile joined up in about two weeks, after some 'training runs' in the Red Rec.

ParkheadParadise · 10/10/2020 15:03

Thank you
It's been bugging me for weeks, as I couldn't remember him joining the proper police 🤣

eatsleepread · 10/10/2020 15:42

I cringed at Yasmeen's laugh. A toe-curling moment indeed.

I don't miss the doughy faced old Todd, and don't give a shit about the new one. Or his mother.

I don't find Evelyn funny. She's no Blanche, that's for sure.
