Old thread full, so here we go again.

Going back to the last point on the old thread, I agree that they’re writing well for Tracy now. She’s still got her hard side, but they’ve made her caring in a straight talking way, rather than just a full-on bitch.

Aw, that wee wave and "hi" from Sam melted my heart

Smallsteps88 · 07/10/2020 21:18

I have to admit, Sam is growing on me too!

Honeyroar · 07/10/2020 21:38

I quite liked tonight’s episode. Quite a lot going on and no daft fillers. I agree that those dresses were hideous and Faye and Abi would’ve refused to wear them in reality.

greendress789 · 07/10/2020 21:38

Charlie Gard's brother is called Oliver!

UtterlyDone · 07/10/2020 21:40

@Smallsteps88

Does natasha not work? Or have a life? She seems to be available to turn up as and when nick or Leanne require her.
Didn't it say she owns hairdressing salons or something?
TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 07/10/2020 21:41

I liked the dress, but it didn't suit Faye at all! It would look worse on me though Grin

Sam was far more likeable tonight. I thought Leanne was dignified and really quite lovely to him. Not what I expected!

excelledyourself · 07/10/2020 21:46

I liked Gail introducing herself to Sam on the video call. Straight in, as expected, but was still sweet and quite reserved by Gail standards.

I thought Leanne was going to surprise me and redeem herself, but her tone and attitude when she told Nick she couldn't bear to look at him was just awful.

BenoneBeauty · 07/10/2020 21:48

I thought tonight's episode was great. Really liked Sam, loved Abi locking Geoff in and everyone lying for Abi. Just not so keen re Eileen and the Todd story!

woodhill · 07/10/2020 21:51

@EggsFried

Given the emphasis on Faye's new online boyfriend, I'm wondering if it is Geoff in disguise?
I thought the same
HollowTalk · 07/10/2020 21:57

I think Leanne is good at showing the intense stress a mother would be under when she's trying to cope with such terrible circumstances - I can imagine that many parents are horrible to everyone at times and it's completely understandable. Having said that I don't know why nobody has told her to treat people better than that - that poor doctor is taking all the punches and I hate to think of that in real life.

HollowTalk · 07/10/2020 21:58

I'm going to have to stop watching if that Sam is in too many more episodes. I am fervently hoping he's not Nick's son, but then that would follow the other case (can't remember names!) where the child wasn't the father's.

CoolShoeshine · 07/10/2020 22:06

I thought the bridesmaid dresses were quite nice, I get sick of samey bridesmaids showing shoulders and cleavage. Why the heck did Abi team her dress with Christmas red lips and nails though!
I actually thought Sally looked gorgeous, really simple style and so pretty with barely any makeup! Lucky cow way older than me but looks 10 years younger!

Smallsteps88 · 07/10/2020 22:10

Natasha’s coming across as far too relaxed and comfortable for someone who didn’t want nick to know the child existed 2 weeks ago. Also the fact no one has mentioned getting a DNA test, they’ve all just embraced Sam as the new son/grandson and jumped straight in with meetings and calling Gail gran etc tells me that it will all come tumbling down at some point. The first thing a man would say when presented with a surprise child is “I want a DNA test”. Especially if your ex has the history of lying that Natasha does. It makes no sense that he hasn’t asked for one before rushing into introductions except that it’s a deliberate omission for plot purposes.

Clawdy · 07/10/2020 22:12

Yes, the Billy - Paul - Todd storyline is beyond boring.

@Smallsteps88 she mentioned it herself tonight. Told Leanne she's happy to do one.
excelledyourself · 07/10/2020 22:16

That's not to say I don't find the whole thing completely bizarre at the best of times, never mind in the current situation!

Smallsteps88 · 07/10/2020 22:18

Oh did she? Well that knocks my theory out of the water! Grin actually no, I wouldn’t put it past her to somehow manage to fake a results letter. Did Leanne say they would take the test?

excelledyourself · 07/10/2020 22:21

Can't actually remember what Leanne said, but no, I don't think so.

guidedogneeded · 07/10/2020 22:27

I'm having major deja vu about the key being under the plant pot and someone breaking in and stealing money from Eileen.
That's definitely been done with another storyline/actor recently 🙄

SoPanny · 07/10/2020 22:31

Awwww I feel the Baileys get a raw deal!

I’d rather have 9 hours of them than all the Todd shite and the abysmal Gary - Maria - Sarah triangle of tedium.

Yep it was. That was my first thought too. I can’t remember who it was though.
eatsleepread · 07/10/2020 22:42

I watch the Oliver scenes with a complete lack of emotion. It shouldn't be that way. And it's because Leanne is so awful.

I'm sure it was them. And she thought Todd was back? Or was it Phelan? Or Jan? Or Trousersmell, who knows.
PhoebeSnow · 08/10/2020 00:17

I think it was Phelan who used the key under the plant pot the last time around... which proves how stupid they are to leave it there again!!!
The writers are lazy and think we don’t remember

MsMiaWallace · 08/10/2020 08:53

Shame they can't bring back Phelan!
Sam is growing on me. He was really sweet at the hospital.
Leanne is grating though. I feel for her I really do but this could be dragged on for ages.
