This match has got interesting. Not saying Gaston will win- or even get the set- but he has rallied in this set.

JaneJeffer · 04/10/2020 17:56

Maybe he criticised his laundry skills.

I'm enjoying this.

Raahh · 04/10/2020 17:57

Thiem looks shattered.

Raahh · 04/10/2020 18:04

Well done Gaston.

They can stop telling us ever other minute that Dom hasn't dropped a set now.

(He's not the only one, either).

Fizzywinegum · 04/10/2020 18:12

Go Hugo! This is looking a bit like when he played Stan the other day

Fizzywinegum · 04/10/2020 18:19

I’ve never seen beauty & the beast or Ben & Holly Blush - I don’t know if it’s because I’m the mother of boys or too old (probably both!) Grin

I’m still surprised that Sascha was allowed to play - I still have to have my temperature taken when I go to the hairdressers Hmm

Raahh · 04/10/2020 18:22

I wonder if Thiem is affected by the 'crowd'.

This is a great match.

Raahh · 04/10/2020 18:28

This is like watching a proper pre-Covid match- where the crowd are really partisan. I was in the kitchen- I could tell when Dom won the point and when Hugo did, from the noise. Grin

Fizzywinegum · 04/10/2020 18:36

WOW! I agree Raahh it’s like watching a proper tennis match - it’s great!

Not so long ago, I was thinking it was great that Hugo might win a set.

Now he's won two.

Allez! Hugo.
(I do like Dom though- but this is very exciting).

JaneJeffer · 04/10/2020 18:41

I'm watching the kitchen telly because I'm cooking dinner and football is on but DS2 is dying to get on the PlayStation. I've just told him there's no tiebreak in the fifth set Grin

Fizzywinegum · 04/10/2020 18:52

Poor DS2 Jane - I’ve been hogging the TV all day Grin

Raahh · 04/10/2020 19:18

That was excellent.

Well done young Hugo.

And well done Dom.

Raahh · 04/10/2020 19:19

He will have made some money too, so not a bad thing.

Raahh · 04/10/2020 19:25

Diminutive Diego is sponsored by Disney +.

That amuses me, for some reason. Grin

Fizzywinegum · 04/10/2020 19:28

I did have a little chuckle at the end of Diego’s match - his opponent looked huge at the net!

Yes well done to Domi and Hugo - great match. I wonder if we’ll see anything more of Hugo or whether this was a flash in the pan? He is only 20 so he’s got plenty of time.

Raahh · 04/10/2020 19:33

Fizzy that will be the big question. We often see players come along and push big players- then we don't hear from them much, or they just become part of the pack.

Was it the crowd that helped Gaston? Maybe. But he pulled himself back , from 2 sets, and nearly made it.
It was lots of fun.

Raahh · 04/10/2020 19:39

Oh, two positive Covid tests with the ball girls.

JaneJeffer · 04/10/2020 19:43

I wonder why the umpires don't wear masks.

Raahh · 04/10/2020 19:46

Jane I don't know. They have mics, don't they, so not being heard would not be an issue.

Clearly, being up a tower, keeps you safe.

JaneJeffer · 04/10/2020 19:49

Like Rapunzel Grin

Raahh · 04/10/2020 19:58

Jane yes!! It's all becoming a very Disney tournament. Grin

JaneJeffer · 04/10/2020 20:34

A whole new world...
