Yay well done Rafa - the conditions looked really difficult and Korda did play well at times. Not sure what’s happening with Sascha - the doctor’s been on a few times.

Will be interesting to see how Gaston gets on against Thiem.

Saw a bit of the third set and there were some good rallies. Korda hit some fantastic shots at times.

I am score checking. I was worried when the first 3 games took an eternity. But Rafa got there in the end.

I had a feeling Sascha would struggle.

Sinner really is good. Sascha doesn't seem to be doing too much wrong.

(I've only seen the last few games though- Sinner was clearly in charge at the beginning).

I realised that I was watching the match about an hour delayed .

So now I know Sascha lost.

I only realised something was wrong when I went to check the scores elsewhere, and all the matches were suspended due to rain!

Just back from the supermarket which was very busy. It's an awful day here.

I'm sad that Sascha is gone but pleased for Rafa and they would have had to play each other next anyway.

Much as I like Sinner, I hope he doesn't continue with his current run. .

In the current climate, I would have thought that was cause for concern.

I also really don't like it when players lose, and then start with the 'yes but ... excuses'.
I would have liked to see his press conference though. I like the bad tempered ones .

It's quite refreshing to watch a match where the crowd are chanting for a player. It seems so long since we've had that.

Sascha doesn't sound well. I wonder what that reporter wrote about him. Good for Sascha to tell him to more or less F off in such a polite manner

I’ve just seen Sascha’s press conference - I don’t think he should have been playing if he had a temperature and was feeling so ill

I don’t like him using it as an excuse for losing but don’t think he should have been playing with those symptoms

It is good to hear the crowd noise - it’s got to help Gaston

Fizzy that is my feeling. Surely they would have had to err on the side of caution. He was tested after the dodgy Adria thing- but he was negative then, so his symptoms now could be anything.

He said in the press conference that he/ his team have been tested and were negative. Well, I don't know the speed of the testing turnaround- but was that test done this morning ?

I wonder if the journo he wouldn't speak to had criticided his involvement in the Adria tour ( or just his unpredictable form/serving issues)?
