About halfway through, both very dramatic couples!

Producers have completely lost the plot. Why are they pandering to the nastiest people? I think they have misjudged this as it's really turning me off the show.
Is season 7 worth bothering with?

I still feel there are some good couples there and also some individuals that do so much to work on the issues that are holding them back. They have just brought in a few too many who aren't genuine and that ruins it in parts. I wanted to watch as was genuinely interested in seeing how a few of them got on, some of the others I wish had gone sooner.

S7 has some good couples on, there is a lot of drama that happens off camera so you never know the truth. I do think they match some people badly on purpose which is actually a shame as I do like the show in general.

I have to say I am kind of over it too. I haven't watched a single episode this weekend. Maybe the break will reignite my appetite for it.

I am not sure the “ixperts” really know what they’re doing! You’d think that by series 6 they would realise that opposites rarely attract and that the quiet Mr A will not be drawn out by the exuberant Miss B. Or the farmer from the arse end of nowhere will enjoy life in the city and “ move for love”.

They are casting more outrageous characters now just to make sure they get plenty of drama and they seem to be the people that they focus on much more.

I don’t want to see bed hopping or partner swapping, I want them to stick to the premise of the show, which is married at first sight, not the couples that have got together in a duplicitous way and want to stay because otherwise they live too far from each other.

I don’t get why they introduced new couples more than halfway into the series, apart from the fact they had lost so many couples from their ill matched originals.

A lot of the young women this series have been awful, rude, self centred with no moral compass, or stirrers and enablers.

John, especially has favoured the men, Heidi and Ning get a particularly rough ride from him. I’m getting a bit fed up with the women “ixperts” asking if the couples have been sexually intimate because that will ensure that the couples will bond and their sham marriages will work.

I agree re John, I think Mike and Mark have behaviour that needed addressing more and they seem to ignore all that. I am not sure why

I’m only up to half way through ep 16 so assumed that when new names appeared on this thread that people were talking about series 7 not the present one .

I’ve only just mastered the established pairs , as some couples were so memorable , others not so much . I don’t know how the new ones will be able to evolve , as they won’t have had so much time together , or be able to meld with the group . I don’t really want to meet new people at this juncture .

It’s a pity that we aren’t all able to follow ep 16 at the same time , as with the other series . Everyone is being so careful to not give away spoilers that in the end there are only generalisations about people and scenarios . Unless you’ve seen the particular episode these don’t really make sense and when I get to that episode I’ve usually forgotten the relevant comments .

I hope there will be another MAFS AUSTRALIA that we can all follow at the same time .

If the ixperts had matched Innes and Sam , would they have been the Jules and Cam , Romeo and Juliet ( non spoiler , I know the latter two didn’t last ) of the series .?

Alternatively, if Jules or Cam had been matched with anyone else , would that have worked ?

I’m so distracted by Elizabeth’s facial expressions. It’s as if she can’t just say plainly “I’m really angry because ..." - she does a sort of dramatic Impression of ‘Anger’, growls, and draws down her clawed hands in order to give us the visual. She also does these cartoon versions of Sad, Sweet (head tilted to almost rest on her shoulder) Sorry (chin to chest, eyes appealing upwards) and Sexy (bares teeth, emits eerie trill) Seems unlikely she has been trained in Kabuki theatre...is this an instagram thing? What’s the relationship between the fake expression of presumably real emotions, and her huge mask of makeup?

In addition is it just editing or is she always telling her interlocutor who she is ‘ I’m crazy, me’ I’m crazy dog lady, me’. During the awful strawberry stuffing scene with Sam she extended it to defining who the two of them were: “we’re both this, we’re both that .. “ - I understand that it’s hard to be natural with the cameras round them, but it’s the opposite of what conversation ought to be -Who are you? What do you think?

I like Elizabeth @ZombieVoicedAdam though I can't put my finger on why - she got a raw deal being paired with Sam. She is so cartoon like though - she's like a Pixar character.

I actually see Innes's point with Bronson. He's as dumb as a brick isn't he, absolutely nothing to him

I think Elizabeth is a caricature and her characteristics are so exaggerated that they take on a surreal , grotesque effect . Her movements appear as though she’s a puppet manipulated by a malign god .

I don’t think she could have been successfully matched with anyone else . Probably the devious Sam was a match made in hell until the arch manipulator came along .

Count me in . It might be a little less frantic than the Aussie one . The UK team might have learnt a few lesson from series 6 .

I quite like Elizabeth, I think she has got a mega raw deal. I think they have edited it to make her look worse than she is. Sam is awful, I don't see what anything in him at all. Now Mick on the other hand

Sorry , no not series 6 of the UK one .

I’m assuming all producers watch all the other countries’ efforts , so was referring to series 6 of MAFS AUSTRALIA .

I have seen several UK ones some time ago - they may have improved - ie got more exciting . We’ll see .

Just watching the second dinner party and a small detail I noticed- when Innes gets out the car, she doesn’t even close the door behind her she just walks off and leaves it open for Bronson to close.
