Wow. Fridays night and the death And murder of Chantelle 😢😢

That was moving and horrendous to watch while gray plans his alibi of her death With

In some ways she will silly to taunt him. And she should have left a message on Khareet phone instead of ringing it lots when went to ansa machine

She should have said she was leaving gray. She loved Khareet and last message was a ploy As gray found out

Then gray will be done for murder

All the other plot lines form previous thread have been sorted

Nice to have ee back after the break

Yep exactly. If there was even a smidgen of possibility that he had murdered my child, I wouldn't be hugging him.

lazymum99 · 22/09/2020 09:27

I thought billy and Karen were an item. Why hadn’t he contacted her. When she arrived back he didn’t even go and try and comfort her. It was awful watching her on her own.
I was dreading this episode but it was very superficial.

Emeraldshamrock · 22/09/2020 10:24

Poor karen. I hope kearat gives over the box.
It is not unusual for the victims family to be fooled initially into thinking it was an accidental death.

notreallybotheredaboutausernam · 22/09/2020 10:36

@Chienloup

Aww, I like Stacey! Her and Max are my ultimate 'Stenders couple. I still live in hope they will properly get together one day.

I wanted to ask about Bailey - Have I missed something? Why wasn't she in Southend? Where is she? Mitch said he was going to Streatham to talk to her, but why is she in Streatham? I thought Mitch and the kids were her only family?

They are saying that Bailey is with an aunt in Streatham. I assume this is totally to do with covid restrictions and not having children on the set. We've seen Max and Mia, and Arthur was in it last night, but on the whole the kids are absent.
PinkDaydreams · 22/09/2020 10:41

What was in the box, was it a memory box?

Mrsjayy · 22/09/2020 10:48

Yes it was a memory box.

Emeraldshamrock · 22/09/2020 10:56

The crime scene footage was done well plenty of evidence photographed.
Unlike Whitney's case.
I have a fondness for Stacey we had our 1st DD's at the same time nearly 12 years ago she has had some amazing storylines.
I remember crying when she was sectioned in the street she looks great.
I know it isn't RL. Grin

eatsleepread · 22/09/2020 11:12

Agree the bank stuff was ridiculous and wholly unrealistic.
Wish Ben would go. I couldn't give less of a shit about him if I tried.

PinkDaydreams · 22/09/2020 11:15

Yes I also thought the photographing of the evidence was good.
I really like the filming quality since returning back to our screens, everything looks clearer, I think I read on here that they are filming in hd?

Such a shame for the actors to be filmed in HD while they're doing their own hair and make-up! Grin

So had gray been arrested? Assuming he was released without charge?

birthdaybelle · 22/09/2020 11:56

Surely Chantelle will have old injuries consistent with abuse that will show up in the autopsy? We've seen her battered and bruised many times. There was also the suspected abuse by the nurse that time she went in for something unrelated. Is it wishful thinking that they look at all of that before a verdict on cause of death.

(Off to perv over Kherat's Instagram)

birthdaybelle · 22/09/2020 11:58

Karen was brilliant. Although I feel that given her been-around-the-block character that she'd be suspicious of Grey before now

You would hope they would spot all those old injuries. And also, when they moved to the square and we first saw him abuse her she talked about how they had moved there for a fresh start and he had said he would stop abusing her. So that means there are maybe signs of injury going back years. Which will rule out any accusation that Kheerat was doing it if that’s what gray tries to suggest.
JemimaTab · 22/09/2020 12:38

I’m hoping this storyline is resolved quickly, with all the bits of evidence coming together (Chantelle’s old injuries and hospital visits, Kheerat, the pawnbroker, the solicitor she spoke to about a divorce etc). I’ll really hate it if this is allowed to drag on for months before Gray is held to account, and it will be even worse if they try to drag Whitney into the story IMO.

Smallsteps88 · 22/09/2020 12:50

Agree jemima. They really shouldn’t drag it out. They’ve set it up in a way that it is impossible for all those clues to be missed.

birthdaybelle · 22/09/2020 13:02

I'll be livid if he gets away with it

gingercat02 · 22/09/2020 13:51

I don't think they will let Gray off it would send the wrong message from the BBC pov.
Really sad they couldn't do better with the aftermath of Chantelle's murder. No way would her family have not been told. Karen would have been a full on mess. I know they couldn't do groups and hugs but more emotional must have been doable.
I love Stacey and an looking forward to her and Max (not spolier just my opinion) v Ruby and Martin

Smallsteps88 · 22/09/2020 13:59

No way would her family have not been told.

Agree. Even if the police didn’t inform them, half the square would have been ringing them as soon as the ambulance turned up at the house telling them something had happened and they needed to come home.

SpanishFly · 22/09/2020 14:01

Especially the fact that it had happened the night before- they didn't arrive home just as it was all unfolding.

SpanishFly · 22/09/2020 14:02

I also don't think he'll get away with it. They worked with Women's Aid on this, so I don't think they'd be on board if it was just a storyline for drama's sake that the producers wanted.

SpanishFly · 22/09/2020 14:04

I also didn't realise just how much I missed eastenders while it wasn't airing. It made life feel even less normal

Smallsteps88 · 22/09/2020 14:04

He definitely won’t get away with it but they may drag it out for viewing numbers. I really hope they don’t.

SpanishFly · 22/09/2020 14:06

I think they will drag it out, but hopefully not for months. I had been sure that this would have been last Christmas's big storyline, yet they dragged it out for 9 more months (ok 6 months plus Covid)

birthdaybelle · 22/09/2020 14:17

I agree @SpanishFly that half hour of routine of an evening would have kept me a little more sane!
