Wow. Fridays night and the death And murder of Chantelle 😢😢

That was moving and horrendous to watch while gray plans his alibi of her death With

In some ways she will silly to taunt him. And she should have left a message on Khareet phone instead of ringing it lots when went to ansa machine

She should have said she was leaving gray. She loved Khareet and last message was a ploy As gray found out

Then gray will be done for murder

All the other plot lines form previous thread have been sorted

Nice to have ee back after the break

@Smallsteps88

I’m completely baffled by the Chantelle story when I see what they’ve done in the aftermath. It seems designed to have removed all hope of escape or justice for abuse victims.

Oh can you imagine if it was Stuart! We know he was a horrible person back then. He locked Tina up in a car boot for hours. And he killed a man a few years ago didn’t he? But then Stuart arrived as a paedophile hunter so would he have been doing that if he had also abused a girl? Maybe some sort of attempt at undoing his guilty feelings? He’d have been a teenager too though back then.

Meredusoleil · 09/10/2020 16:34

I've just realised I think Karen must have not gone to Chantelle's funeral herself either, otherwise she would have noticed the Gray's absence!

I really hope Mick wasn't abused. And all these stories of him being in care, when was that? I don't remember. The poor guy's been through enough, give him a break ffs!

Oh and I think he's 43 and Frankie is probably early 20s. So can't be before Linda imho.

SoupDragon · 09/10/2020 17:14

I think she knew he wasn't there but not where he'd gone...? I can't imagine Karen not going.

SoupDragon · 09/10/2020 17:17

Skipped through it on iPlayer and Billy says "beautiful service wasn't it?" to Karen in the Vic so she must have been there.

nancy75 · 09/10/2020 20:50

Good job Sonia is there to rescue Mick

nancy75 · 09/10/2020 20:57

The police have evidence that Whitney was being stalked, they found his look out in the loft - who would find her guilty after hearing that?

Meredusoleil · 09/10/2020 21:44

Wtf is Whitney up to now ffs! I thought she was standing up for herself really well there. Then she has to go and ruin it by saying she's going to plead guilty 🤦🏻‍♀️ It was SELF-DEFENSE people! Are no female characters in EE ever going to get justice?

Also, I think it's looking more and more like pp were right about Mick being abused when he was younger. But seriously, why would Frankie's mum give out details of Mick if she'd abused him? 🤔 Also, where or when would that have been? Jesus. Imagine conceiving a child in that way without even knowing you'd done so. Mind boggling 🤯

nancy75 · 09/10/2020 22:35

Whitney drives me mad, she’s so bloody stupid & needy.

Smallsteps88 · 09/10/2020 22:55

why would Frankie's mum give out details of Mick if she'd abused him?

Apparently she didn’t, she refused to give Frankie her father’s name but Frankie found letters between mick and her mother and the dates “matched her birth” which I thought was a silly comment as mick said the woman/girl had disappeared before he knew she was pregnant so he wasn’t writing to her at the time of frankies birth. I assume that line was meant to mean matched the time of her conception.

Casmama · 10/10/2020 00:50

I think Mick is her father but that either her mother was also very young and they met in care or that her mother was older and there was a grooming relationship going on. It seems like he cared about her mother if the letters she mentioned are to be believed

I think this would differ in Micks head from the abuse of Stuart in young offenders which may have been brutal and forceful and if the actress is 30 then it is perfectly reasonable that what he might have once seen as a love affair now doesn't sit comfortably with him.

southeastdweller · 10/10/2020 07:56

Yeah I think he initially romanticised the abuse (similar to Jacob and Maya in Emmerdale) maybe thinking, as some do, that women can't sexually abuse children, then mentally 'buried' it when he met Linda.

MyLifeWTF · 10/10/2020 08:30

I have just found this post so sorry of I go back on a few things.

Firstly the Stacey and Ruby thing is confusing and irritating me, when Ruby was talking to Kat, just before Stacey arrived, she said something along the lines of 'tell your thieving slag of a cousin...' and I just thought, when did she have such hate for her? Stacey stood by her when she was accused of lying about the rape, when Ruby was getting all that hate online calling her so many names, Stacey was the one in her corner.

And then she looked so spiteful when she came around demanding her money, Ruby is the one that slept with Stacey's husband and started a relationship. Martin told Stacey he slept with Sonia to protect her, so Stacey isn't actually in the wrong here. The mind boggles.

Chantelles death I am really confused why it's not been made such a big deal and it's sort of been swept aside. I was thinking the other day if I was the actress watching it I'd be quite disappointed with my departure follow on story.

Suki is seriously not right in the head and I do wonder why she has such hate for everyone and everything (including her kids) poor Jags.

Yesterdays episode I just wanted to shout 'what!!??' Ash talking to Habiba she said 'my family mean everything to me' a few months ago she hated them and didnt want them involved in her life and tried to get them to leave Walford, didnt want Iqra to meet them and basically called her mother evil, which she is, so have EE forgotten about that??

I feel like the break has messed them up a bit and they've forgotten where they are.

SoupDragon · 10/10/2020 09:29

Ruby is the one that slept with Stacey's husband and started a relationship. Martin told Stacey he slept with Sonia to protect her, so Stacey isn't actually in the wrong here. The mind boggles.

Stacey was sleeping with someone else whilst away. Her and Martin were not together. I'm not sure if they got divorced or not though. Ruby isn't at fault other than having broken some kind of "sisterhood" code, Martin was single.

Smallsteps88 · 10/10/2020 09:48

so Stacey isn't actually in the wrong here.

Well she did commit fraud and steal £40k from her! Grin

MyLifeWTF · 10/10/2020 10:10

Haha! I know that! But I do feel sorry for her, maybe I'm just soft irl lol! I just think she supported Ruby through all the hate and they didnt even have a conversation they just now hate each other lol...

SinisterBumFacedCat · 10/10/2020 10:53

Stacey is totally in the wrong. She had ditched Martian a years or so before he got together with Ruby.

SoupDragon · 10/10/2020 10:58

@MyLifeWTF

Stacey decided she hated Ruby and acted accordingly. Ruby is just reacting to that.
lazymum99 · 10/10/2020 11:24

Are iqra and Ash still together?
Ash hated her family at the beginning and wanted nothing to do with them. But she is stuck now because she has covered up the crime and will be struck off as a doctor if found out.
I now love Habiba. Go girl!
Whitney is an idiot and whatever mick says or doesn’t say it was till self defence and they know he was stalking her and bloody living in the attack.
The quick funeral of Chantel is ultra annoying. Surely they do an autopsy in these circumstances and previous injuries will have shown. Even recent bruises.

lazymum99 · 10/10/2020 11:25

Fiddlersgreen · 10/10/2020 12:11

I’m so disappointed with what they’ve done with the Chantelle storyline.
How is this supposed to inspire anyone to leave an abusive partner?
And what are they trying to do now, is Gray going to have a breakdown and we’re supposed to feel sorry for him?!!!
I don’t understand it at all and I’d be very surprised if Women’s Aid and Refuge have supported this part of the storyline

Smallsteps88 · 10/10/2020 12:16

I’m with you 100% @Fiddlersgreen. I don’t get it. It seems to be the gray story rather than the Chantelle story.

SoupDragon · 10/10/2020 12:20

I guess the story isn't done yet but it's odd route to have taken.

Meredusoleil · 10/10/2020 12:36

I think these recent outbursts that Gray has been having are all about him and his guilty conscience! When he spoke to the policeman and then again in court. Its almost as if he wants to be caught and held responsible for Chantelle's death! Like he's having a crisis of conscience and the reality of what he's has actually done has finally hit him 🤔

SpanishFly · 10/10/2020 12:46

I agree re the DV stuff. Women's Aid were very much involved up til now, and they also wanted the character to die, to show that it wasn't always easy to leave. But it's all gone weird now. Maybe they're about to surprise us with what happens next 🤞🏻
