Wow. Fridays night and the death And murder of Chantelle 😢😢

That was moving and horrendous to watch while gray plans his alibi of her death With

In some ways she will silly to taunt him. And she should have left a message on Khareet phone instead of ringing it lots when went to ansa machine

She should have said she was leaving gray. She loved Khareet and last message was a ploy As gray found out

Then gray will be done for murder

All the other plot lines form previous thread have been sorted

Nice to have ee back after the break

Corrie's just done it with Paul and Kel.

nancy75 · 08/10/2020 20:56

It would be a weird story for Mick though, when Stuart first appeared he was paedophile hunter, Mick wasn’t that bothered - surely if he’d been abused there would have been more anger about what had happened to him?
I hope there is another explanation, I hate when they rewrite history

southeastdweller · 08/10/2020 20:58

I think he’s mentally buried it until Frankie turned up. I’m not an expert on these things, just guessing.

I think we’re going to see some very dark and powerful scenes soon.

meow1989 · 08/10/2020 21:02

Whitney has put two and two together hasnt she? Will she go to prison and not be taken seriously?

SewingBeeAddict · 08/10/2020 21:05

It might explain why Mick has only been with L though. He clung to her as she was the only one he trusted.
SoupDragon · 08/10/2020 21:36

I don’t recall any soap doing a historic sexual abuse story when the victim was a male child.

Stuart said he was abused whilst in the juvenile detention place didn't he?

southeastdweller · 08/10/2020 21:44

Oh yes, I forgot he was abused when he was in a young offenders institution.

SoupDragon · 08/10/2020 22:15

Even if he was lying, Mick didn't react as someone who had also been abused so I doubt it's that. I'm not convinced he actually is Frankie's father though.

Frankie is being really nasty about it IMO. You can't just turn up Out of the blue, drop a bombshell and demand to be welcomed

Optimist1 · 08/10/2020 22:18

What is Grey doing? Where is Whitney’s legal team?

I may have got it wrong, but Grey is a solicitor, so wouldn't be conducting Whit's defence, but quite normal for him to be there to assist her barrister. He and the barrister would have consulted to some extent before the start of the trial, so why on earth did the barrister (who we didn't see, for some reason) not recognise him and make sure he left the court before he got done for contempt?

A complete dog's breakfast, IMHO!

I haven't watched tonight's episode yet as I knew it was Chantelle's funeral episode so before I watch cam anyone tell me if the episode shows the whole funeral or is it just briefly shown and the majority of the episode focussed on other stories?

meow1989 · 08/10/2020 22:27

At the beginning theres scenes of the flowers and Karen crying, grey gets in one of the cars but goes to court. Then it skipped later to Karen in the Vic l9oking at the order of service. Not much was made of it really.

user1499113169 · 08/10/2020 22:36

wanted to avoid funeral scenes so now I know there's nothing a major I'll watch it thanks

Smallsteps88 · 08/10/2020 22:42

I’m completely baffled by the Chantelle story when I see what they’ve done in the aftermath. It seems designed to have removed all hope of escape or justice for abuse victims.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 08/10/2020 22:54

Yeah it’s really low key, I don’t know if it’s the social distancing, the complete lack of funeral scenes when they have filmed bigger funerals for smaller characters.

SoupDragon · 09/10/2020 07:31

I agree that Chantelle's story seems to make no sense at the moment. I'm assuming that they won't just leave it like this though and she will get justice (although I'm not sure how now given she's probably been cremated and there's no evidence of all her prior injuries)

gingercat02 · 09/10/2020 08:19

Well that was a truly bizzare episode. Why was Chantelle's funeral (and Gray and the children not going) not the focus. I couldn't care less about Shitney's trial or Mick and his not daughter. Calling Max a predator was the only good bit!
Oh and Philth at the hospital!!!!

SoupDragon · 09/10/2020 08:34

I think that social distancing must have played a part. Difficult to spread out the mourners and not have it look wrong.

That said, they skimped on Denny's funeral too.

Meredusoleil · 09/10/2020 09:02

I agree.

I hate the way they show the hearse with the coffin and then the next thing we know, the mourners are in the Vic drowning their sorrows 😯

And how could Karen not have noticed that Gray was not at the actual funeral when she'd just got back from it?!? Surely she saw he want there? Where was all Whitney's legal team? Just because Gray wasn't meant to be there, doesn't mean no-one else from the firm shouldn't be.

Tbh, I'm finding EE way too OTT atm. What with Tiffany looking orange. Ash and Iqra acting like they were never together. Jags suddenly working out what his mum had done to him and being willing to take the rap for his brother Vinny. Habiba suddenly becoming a nice honest girl who wants to stand by and up for her man, when she was always a minx and Iqra was the nice sister.

All the characters seem to have had personality transplants imho! Mick is clearly on the verge of another panic attack and isn't speaking to Linda even though he would normally. I just don't recognise most of them any more from their recent behaviour. Jean is looking very tanned too. Way too many stories running at the same time side by side. It's hard to keep track of them all. Very messy!

KANNET · 09/10/2020 09:49

Ok my guess for mick/Frankie story. He knew her and knew she was being abused by someone and didn't help.

excelledyourself · 09/10/2020 09:52

Why and when did Ash and Iqra split up??

Phil and Ellie at the hospital gave me the creeps. I think she liked him and he's going to use that to try and get closer to Raymond.

I didn't understand the funeral either. How did they not know Gray wasn't there? I sort of thought when he said he was going alone that that's exactly what he meant - him only at the funeral, but I doubt they would have let that happen and then there would have been nobody there, which Karen didn't say

Smallsteps88 · 09/10/2020 09:56

@KANNET

Ok my guess for mick/Frankie story. He knew her and knew she was being abused by someone and didn't help.
I think this sounds likely.
southeastdweller · 09/10/2020 09:59

He’d have told her he used to know her by now, I think. And he would have recognised her already.

Smallsteps88 · 09/10/2020 10:03

@KANNET means he knew her mother was being abused. Not Frankie.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/10/2020 11:36

@nancy75

It was the predator not that makes me think something more too it (but yes Max is a skank) Either he was abused or Frankie’s mum was abused & he knows who did it?
Abused by Stuart?

I don’t think mick is dad
