I'm so glad I found this thread! Finally a place where I can vent my pure hatred for Troy. I don't know what it is but when ever he's on my screen I want to scream at him. You can tell Ashley is looking at him with gritted teeth and I don't blame her. Never trust a man who brushes his teeth like that and eats tuna straight out of a can

Suddenly realised when Melissa and John were having a drink together while getting ready for the dinner party... have we ever seen them together NOT drinking?

I do like that there’s been a lot less consensus on this thread than on the series four ones. You knew where you were with Abandrew and AnTHony (though I admit to liking Abandrew until he revealed himself).

It’s nice when we don’t all agree.

I think we can all agree that Nasser is a tosser now though. It just goes to show that in a high pressure environment the future-fakers and love-bombers can’t keep it up for long.

Nasser is like a vindictive pixie Rinder.

The rage on his face when Gabrielle stood up to make her very beautiful toast, and every time someone crossed him or even disagreed with him! He's truly horrible. Turns on the charm when it suits him, but it's just a veneer of civilisation - scratch that shallow surface and there is a brutal man underneath there.

I think his friends (who seemed lovely) may never have seen the real him. It is in his interest to keep them onside, and he could well be the jolly member of their group, and that is all he ever shows of himself to them. I wonder if they are all still pally now, or if he considers himself too good for them (now he is a ).

Or perhaps they are all seasoned gaslighters . . .

Funny thing is the bloke I married has that tall thin physique but is very opposite in all other ways - direct to the point of bluntness. I did burn through a few 'Troys' in my misspent youth however
Nasser isn't a pixie, they are cute! Agreed how the veneer of social acceptability slips on the truly nasty and they can't disguise themselves for long.

If you judged my exH by his friends, you would get a very positive impression. Good people, who've known him for years and aren't stupid. If you only see him in social situations where he knows bullying will look bad, he won't act the bully.

I do find Troy very annoying , especially his braying laugh . I dislike his way of making amorous moves around Ash which can be cringeworthy .

HOWEVER , I agree with your ‘thing’ for posh boys and I don’t have an aversion to red trousers ( although I do prefer dusky pink ).

I don’t think he’s going to turn out to be nasty/cruel . He doesn’t have a particularly sophisticated filter and he can be a bit dozy but I really don’t think he’s in the same class as Nasty Nasser or even Devious Dean.

We shall see !

Haha, yes that was a low point, but I like a challenge and have successfully potty trained dogs and children so I'm unfazed...

@riotlady I think Melissa has a bit of an alcohol problem (from reading her book).

Yep Melissa definitely drinks a lot, always a glass in her hand. We see the others with cups of coffee etc, but not Melissa.

I am a Troy fan too - I don't find him attractive, I just think he's likeable. Shouldn't be anywhere near Ashley though, they're not compatible at all.

You see Eau - one becomes three . It hasn’t taken long . Given that we have to wait until Monday for another episode , the enforced boredom will no doubt allow people to think upon the hidden treasures of Troy ( forget the Trojan War ).

I don’t think Troy means badly. I couldn’t live with him though.

I think Patrick & Charlene, John and Melissa and Telv and Sarah are great matches. Would have been better to see:

• Justin and Ashley
• DeaNO and DaviNA
• Alycia and Ryan
• Troy and Tracey (she'd love the constant adoration)
• Nasser and Old Sean as they clearly aren't interested in women

Agree that Troy is generally a good egg. IMO anyway.
I think he’d be alright and good fun within a circle of friends but no way could I be in a relationship with him. I’d quite like to teach him how to cook.

Ryan got such a raw deal and handled it well. Perhaps he and Blair could have had fun- she had a raw deal too.
