It is a gut wrenching story but I wish it wasn't being written and edited this way, I suppose.

x2boys · 16/09/2020 20:53

I don't watch current Corrie that often I prefer classic but I can completely understand Leanne,s reaction ,I have a child with a rare disorder thankfully not life threatening but he does have complex disabilities, most parents would do anything for their child ,even in hopeless cases ,it's understandable she wants to explore all options, however vague they might be,there were two fairly well known cases in the news in the last few years ,and the parents of those boys tried everything however hopeless and unnecessary it might have seemed to the general public .

Optimist1 · 17/09/2020 11:39

The more I see Shona, the more I'm convinced that she's trying to do an impersonation of Saga Noren (The Bridge). If that's the case, she's failing miserably.

thenightsky · 17/09/2020 13:20

How is Gary still on honeymoon?!

That confused me for a moment. I thought 'what? Gary got married? Who to?'

I think I need a memory check Shock

eggandonion · 17/09/2020 17:04

I always have to do a double think, pass the partner.

eddiemairswife · 17/09/2020 17:12

And Now you've mentioned him he'll be back on the screen in no time.

eggandonion · 17/09/2020 17:14

My dh thinks he is a good character. That's crazy talk.

NCTDN · 18/09/2020 17:31

Did I miss an episode where that Natasha told nick he had a son?

excelledyourself · 18/09/2020 17:35

He overheard a conversation between her and a nurse at the hospital and put 2 and 2 together. She came to the flat and tried to make out he'd got it wrong, but admitted it eventually.

eggandonion · 18/09/2020 20:06

Craig should learn not to tell people police stuff.

Honeyroar · 18/09/2020 20:14

Craig won’t last as a policeman if he tells his mates info all the time! Good job life in Corrie never leaves the street. It’s like The Truman Show film, where they live in a dome!

Honeyroar · 18/09/2020 20:16

Forgot to say, I’m finding itvweird when people walk into a place with a mask on and take them off to talk!

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 18/09/2020 20:19

@Honeyroar

Yep! Especially the HCPs that are doing it! And why was Leanne wearing a mask when she was on her own with Oliver, but took it off when Nick came in. Its so unrealistic
Honeyroar · 18/09/2020 20:21

Yes it would be better if they put a disclaimer at the start saying actors will be filmed in circumstances that normal people would be wearing masks.

LTB!
Roussette · 18/09/2020 20:26

Truman show, yes!

nildesparandum · 18/09/2020 21:42

A local GP goes into the pub on her lunch break.A patient's relative (Tracey) comes in and starts asking her questions about Oliver's condition.Instead of reminding her about confidentiality she starts discussing Oliver's details with her in a public place. Then GP goes straight to hospital and repeats it all to Leanne and Steve.
Unbelievable

PennyRoyal · 18/09/2020 23:35

What a crap episode for an hour tonight.
Emma was the only light relief (then I flicked over and she was a hooker in Newcastle on Vera!).

I like Abby but don't like this storyline.

Where is Jiggle it Geoff??

eggandonion · 18/09/2020 23:48

Dr Badass will be struck off. Maybe dr Ali can be reinstated, although I like Dr Badass too.
Nobody seems to consider confidentiality, doctors, or PC Craig.

excelledyourself · 19/09/2020 00:05

The fact she gets called Dr Badass is possibly my favourite ever thing on MN.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 19/09/2020 01:08

@AltheaThoon

I kept thinking the trampoline bouncing was so that Shona fell off and banged her head and ended up cured. Me too! Or that she was going to be at the bottom of the hole, magically cured. Tbh, as unrealistic as that would be I'd prefer it to the current Shona storyline which is just really awful.

And, aside from all the other weird stuff that happened in Friday's episode, I kept finding myself fancying David with his hair and his beard and his denim jacket. Why? I didn't see that one coming for sure!

I find him quite attractive too!, he’s no Adam Barlow but I love his dry humour and wit and how much he loves his wife and children but he has a dark twisted side as well that makes him quite complex and rather attractive in a weird way. Even Shona said tonight at first she thought he was a weasel but she fancies him now! He does suit the ‘Grease’ style of clothes and hair too which helps.
Roussette · 19/09/2020 06:23

Well... that was an hour of my life I won't be getting back. Awful episode, disjointed and boring.
We all know Leanne is going to make Steve kidnap Oliver from hospital don't we... and off to wherever with him to meet the dodgy Doctor for £500K
(this is not a spoiler, it's me talking out loud!)

As for the calls with Doctor Schmitts... well, let's not go there...

eggandonion · 19/09/2020 08:41

I think the Oliver story is important, but the track record of serious illness story lines is poor. And with the complicated filming arrangements, it is not working well.
I hate the empty Rovers scenes.

BenoneBeauty · 19/09/2020 12:07

I completely agree @ZaraCarmichaelshighheels

AltheaThoon · 19/09/2020 17:14

Glad it's not just me ZaraCarmichaelshighheels. I was about to book a lobotomy for myself 😂
