Please fill up the other thread first - there's still five pages and we're going to need every one of them!

Cheers, fellow obsessives. Grin

It's going to be a long and busy ride to hell . . .

Do a big shop for snacks, close the living room curtains, start after work Friday. Only leaving the room for loo breaks and a root around the fridge. Emerging in time for work Monday morning. Unwashed, jacked up on sugar and traumatised that it's all over.

Why do they pick such tiny men for the larger women? It was an issue last series and will be again!

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 17/08/2020 21:32

Watching later so place marking here, thanks for the new thread Smile

1984andout · 17/08/2020 21:39

Nasser’s mates are lovely.

Eaumyword · 17/08/2020 21:39

Here you all are!Smile

Egghead68 · 17/08/2020 21:46

The millionaire seems less awful than I thought he might be.

Honeyroar · 17/08/2020 21:48

Nadia and the twins from the last series would’ve loved him.

Eaumyword · 17/08/2020 22:19

Yes, Mr Millionaire calmed down a bit after his Tourrettes-esque showing off! 1st class travel! I always get what I want! 5 star hotel!
I quite like them as a couple though tbf.
I just love what each couples' stress response brings out at the altar - anything from joking to over exaggerated facial expressions.
We are so invested in this programme, Mr Eau who definitely prefers Wheeler Dealers, is just as fascinated Smile

Italiangreyhound · 17/08/2020 23:04

Thanks

Honeyroar "Why do they pick such tiny men for the larger women? It was an issue last series and will be again!"

The women do seem to be very interested om how tall the men are.

Can't say I am interested in anyone except Sarah and Telv and Charlene and Patrick! Where are they!

Just realised I did watch season one and two Married at first sight Australia. It's just season 3 I've not seen!

Italiangreyhound · 17/08/2020 23:40

Carly looks a bit like Katie Piper and a bit like Kylie Minogue! I think.

I can't see that all the bridesmaids look like her but one does, maybe that's her sister?

Italiangreyhound · 17/08/2020 23:42

What is with matching so many people with kids. It just seems very irresponsible.

So far about 6 out of the 12 have got kids. One more couple to go, can we remember all their names! Let's come back to that after tomorrow's episode!!

Verdita73 · 18/08/2020 00:04

I think the bridesmaids in black dresses look like three hooded crows or Macbeth’s three witches . Especially when they all descended on Millionaire - he looked quite scared .
I see a glimpse of Nadia in Carly .

Verdita73 · 18/08/2020 00:14

Millionaire arriving Bond - style in his boat accompanied by the Mafia was quite impressive - I thought .

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 18/08/2020 00:54

Nasser needs to learn to give a compliment that doesn’t include himself! “We both look great” “we’re the luckiest couple in the world” etc! He seems quite keen and generally nice, but I think he loves himself so much already that he’ll struggle to love someone else enough Grin

inappropriateraspberry · 18/08/2020 07:32

Thanks Schaden. I'll lookout for the mouthwash! My gum is def a bit swollen and spongy 😬 I think it's my wisdom tooth playing up.
Had an infection before, years ago, and could hardly open my mouth to eat!

Nasser would annoy me, but they both seem happy. RichJustin seems quite sweet, I just hope he learns to put his new wife first. Probably a hard habit to break, but she maybe able to whip him into shape! I like Carly (?) she seems down to earth and not all botoxed like a lot of the others.

YourVagesty · 18/08/2020 07:54

That would do my head in quite quickly @MarkRuffaloCrumble I'm not sure whether it's a lack of confidence thing but it's bloody annoying.

I reckon (based on no evidence whatsoever), he's got the vibe of a cheat too.

SpanishFly · 18/08/2020 08:00

I agree Eau, I think it was anxiety and blurting that was making him say all the stuff about only travelling 1st class. Insecurity and pressure makes you say some odd things to try to impress.

SpanishFly · 18/08/2020 08:06

Could we please not use phrases like "The Oriental one"?? Im sure it wasn't meant offensively, but it's a horribly outdated term.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 18/08/2020 08:21

Fair enough - but how would you have described her?

It was me who used it. it wasn't meant offensively, but descriptively. I wouldn't have objected to being called "the occidental one".

Had there been (say) three with hair colour the same as Carly's and one red-head, would my saying "even the red-headed one" have been offensive?

Give me can updated term and I'll use it.

SchadenfreudePersonified hope your tooth is OK.

Thanks

Much less painful this morning, thank you Italian, but I'm still aware of it.

I imagine that most of it is just bruising or something and it will fade.

However, now I'm worrying myself that the remaining bit of tooth will either cause a super-infection, or will work it's way through my gum and into my brain (in the same way that swallowed chewing gum wraps itself around your heart Grin). There is no curse greater than an over-active imagination.

I'm wishing I'd just put up with it and let him dig it out - though having said that I'm certain that if he thought it would cause a problem he would have insisted on finishing the job/given me a list of warning signs/asked me to sign something.

"Asian" is the accepted term. Oriental is not. It wasn't to start an argument, but whether you would object to be called Occidental is not at all relevant. Oriental is an outdated term, and Asian is the term that Asians prefer. This is supposed to be a lighthearted thread, but I was uncomfortable with the term so didn't want to ignore it, especially if you were unaware that it's offensive. And as I said, I am sure that it was not meant in an offensive way.
