Ah yes I meant skipped the afternoon showings. If you were set up to record the morning showings you got them all

They cancelled the afternoon showings to put on carry on films...

x2boys · 06/04/2021 18:25

Yes carry on films 🙄

Redglitter · 06/04/2021 18:46

Have they skipped episodes then. I saw the ones yesterday morning which finished with Nick & Leanne telling Gail they were married.

But today's episodes he's been kicked out, Almas dinner party has been and there's reference to something on the radio re Jim and Fiona. I'm even more confused than usual.

AWamBamBoom · 06/04/2021 18:58

Well now it all makes sense! Thank you @KarensChoppyBob all caught up now 👍

Iwantacampervan · 06/04/2021 19:19

@Redglitter If you look at the list on ITV Hub catch up page it appears that today's early morning episodes were different ones to the afternoon meaning that there were 4 episodes in all today.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 08/04/2021 13:07

I did enjoy Alma and Audrey getting pissed at the dinner party. And whilst it’s obviously hard to tell in retrospect, as we’re so used to seeing them together, Roy and Hayley seemed to fit from day one.

Where is Liz? She seems curiously absent from the Deirdre storyline, and the latest Steve and Jim feud - plus wasn’t Mike meant to have some ulterior motive for giving her a job in the factory? I wonder if Bev Callard was ill when the episodes were filmed; it would explain why Alma was so heavily featured with Ken and Deirdre.

Elsewhere, Natalie does a good line in ‘I’m a woman of the world who sees things others might miss’ side stares.

Indeed.

Housewife2010 · 08/04/2021 15:42

Samantha's character is so dull. Does anyone care about her and the equally dull Richie?

SophieB100 · 08/04/2021 21:02

I couldn't remember how Hayley and Roy met, so it was good to see them and they way they just fitted together from the start.
Gail's hair! It just swamps her!
Nick and Leanne were very sweet. In current Corrie she alluded to when she first met Nick and eloped with him...I don't think it was coincidence, I think the scriptwriters of current Corrie are trying to tie it in to Classic Corrie.

Samantha needs to go, she's so irritating. Can't believe her character is only meant to be 21.
Mabelene · 08/04/2021 21:56

Was there a continuity error today, referring to Fiona’s baby as ‘he’?

Housewife2010 · 08/04/2021 22:22

Fiona's baby is a he. He is current Coronation Street's Emma's big brother, Morgan.

I don't recall Fiona getting pregnant with Steve, post-Morgan. Confused
thenightsky · 08/04/2021 22:25

BY steve I mean, obv.

Housewife2010 · 08/04/2021 22:27

She didn't originally. When Emma turned up it was revealed that Fiona was pregnant when she left the Street. It wasn't in the script at the time.

x2boys · 08/04/2021 22:39

She was a fast worker ,two children in fifteen months with two father's ,and then she must have met Emma,s ( step) Dad either during her pregnancy or just after if Emma thought he was her Dad !

StillCoughingandLaughing · 08/04/2021 22:43

Not necessarily. I remember at the time Emma’s ‘dad’ died, Morgan appeared, and he clearly knew it wasn’t his dad. Emma’s stepdad could have come into her life when she was three or four; she might have been too young to realise he wasn’t her real dad.

x2boys · 08/04/2021 22:48

Yes I suppose but Morgan is only just over a year older , assuming he had little or no contact with Alan Emma,s "Dad" must have helped bring them both up .

Hi ! New to this thread ! I am in and out of Classic Corrie, when I can, as unable to record ITV3 where I am. What has shocked me most, watching again, is how well Denise Welch played Natalie. I just remember her as a cold home wrecker but, she is witty, vulnerable and kind. I never really saw much of Elsie Tanner, except what is on YouTube but, she reminds me of her. I agree Samantha is so boring and I hate the way Zoe uses Ashley, even if she is very young.

Natalie, like many Corrie characters over the years, was billed as ‘the new Elsie Tanner’.

Welcome to Classic Corrie land!

Liverbird77 · 20/04/2021 15:15

Samantha's behaviour is not realistic...so out of character.
