Lol I was watching an episode of Classic EastEnders ages ago and Arthur was on a quiz show and he answered about a Corrie character ,Ena Sharples I think?😂

StillCoughingandLaughing · 26/11/2020 21:51

I remember my brother being a big fan of the brightly coloured shirt collar over a dark jacket look favoured by Alan McKenna.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 27/11/2020 12:58

Oh dear! Here we go.

Sally's away in Scarborough and Natalie is hovering Shock

Slowly closing in on Kevin...

x2boys · 27/11/2020 13:37

I was wondering when they would send her away ,as they were not very good at disguising the actress is clearly heavily pregnant 😂

justthecat · 27/11/2020 15:14

Yes her coat was getting very tight!

thenightsky · 27/11/2020 16:39

Am I missing some episodes? I saw only one yesterday and none at all today?

thenightsky · 27/11/2020 16:40

Oh... ignore me. I've just seen it doesn't start until 5pm today.

Redglitter · 27/11/2020 18:16

Martin is some man isnt he. No matter what time of day or what dept residents end up in, there he is.

x2boys · 27/11/2020 18:56

Yep I don't know how Weathefield General have managed without him since he left tbh 🤔

StillCoughingandLaughing · 27/11/2020 18:59

SadSadSad

You always knew it was important episode when the credits ran over the final shot.

x2boys · 27/11/2020 19:52

SadSadSad
Oh poor Derek .

gower4 · 27/11/2020 22:20

Alan was gorgeous!!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 29/11/2020 09:58

That Angie is a fast worker, isn't she?

The way she zoned in on Chris at Fiona's party was so funny. No beating around the bush, either, just practically demanded a snog, there and then!

And got one too, lucky girl!

eggandonion · 30/11/2020 15:14

Oh poor Mavis, she was just right to have a go at Emily..

AdoptedBumpkin · 30/11/2020 15:16

So sad even after all this time.

eggandonion · 30/11/2020 15:45

Oh Roy, brilliant!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 30/11/2020 16:08

I can't imagine that anyone, let alone someone as tall as Chris would be able to sleep comfortably on that 'sofa' of Des's!

It not a sofa! It's a bloody park bench with a wafer-thin stripy cushion on it.

It looks damned uncomfortable, even for sitting on, never mind trying to sleep on it 😣

x2boys · 30/11/2020 16:19

Oh that was heartbreaking ,very well acted .

eggandonion · 30/11/2020 18:02

Chris isn't the sort to be on a sofa for long.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 30/11/2020 20:35

You're not wrong there, eggandonion!

I'd have had him in my bed asap.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 30/11/2020 20:55

You can see how it's gradually changing now, can't you?

Why do the storylines have to become sensational and dramatic?

There was nothing wrong with a gentle story of everyday folk just living their lives.

Not having sieges and major crime incidents every five minutes!

x2boys · 30/11/2020 21:31

I know so much more realistic ,than massive story lines and awareness etc ,sometimes you just want to watch a bit of everyday escapism not constantly having to be made aware of medical issues .

StillCoughingandLaughing · 01/12/2020 14:09

The scenes with Mavis and Judy had me blubbering 😭

From memory, people really didn’t like the way Brian Park changed the show at first (even though ratings had hit a real slump beforehand). It took about six months to get into the right rhythm again.

BTW, if you were thinking ‘Ooh, what’s she been in?’ about Frankie Stillman, she went on to play Rana and Imran’s mother in modern day Corrie.

justthecat · 01/12/2020 16:10

That back shot of Alma can’t of been her, it looked like some hideous wig

StillCoughingandLaughing · 01/12/2020 16:30

I thought the exact same thing! It sounded dubbed over too.

I remember at the time thinking it was a nice touch that they brought Claire back for the funeral. It wasn’t for some big final showdown with Des or Sam, or a dramatic revelation - it was just a touch of realism, where a nice woman attended the funeral of a neighbour who’d been good to her daughter.
