Claire really tore a strip off Des. If I remember correctly, she was hardly ever mentioned again once the dust had settled.

I liked her hair. Did she go yesterday? I always miss the excitement.

She left in one of the episodes shown today, but I expect will make one or two more appearances to tie things up and then that will be it.

I remember Tricia meeting ray but didn’t think it was this soon after the baby how many episodes a week at this point does anyone know?
The hostage episode was daft

It went to four episodes a week in late 1996. I think we’re in March 1997 now.

I didn’t like Claire’s voice, it really got on my nerves. I also thought that there was very little chemistry between her and Des, although they’re both decent actors.

Fab short hair though! She looks amazing.

I can't say I'm sorry Claire has gone. Her odd way of speaking always grated on me and had me diving for the mute button.

I'll miss Becky, though. She's improved no end as a character since her first appearance, and I suspect would have had great comedy potential.

Incidentally, did you know the that girl who played Becky is Chesney's (current Corrie) real-life sister?

And why has Kev & Sally's car suddenly turned into a taxi? The red Escort, that Claire left in, is the one Kevin and Sal bought when Rita gave them that money a while ago! Are we really not supposed to notice these things?

And, for that matter, why was Claire even in a taxi? She had her own car when she came to live with Des - what happened to it?

On classic Emmerdale Zoe's Land Rover was driving along the motorway when Alice was kidnapped and in the services car park where she was rescued (sorry for tangent lol).

Lol no i didn't notice kev and Sal's car suddenly being a taxi😂,I agree about Clare's voice very annoying it sounds likes she's constantly being sarcastic ,yes Becky is quite a good actress her and Jamie are far better than the average acting abilities of Corrie kids .

Watching the scene where Derek said goodbye to Des, as he set off on the boat, actually made me quite tearful.

It was beautifully done, and very touching.

Yep the actor plays him very well ,but they have got to end of the road with him now .

I need to stop reading the brief of every-days episode in the tv mag for the next week 🙈

I'm not in the uk, so I can't record it and the tv listings don't have info. Every day brings a new surprise.

Yes, I thought that. I don’t remember seeing it at the time, but perhaps it’s just more poignant when you know what’s to come.

The headline on Don’s paper was about EastEnders I can’t cope with a world where EastEnders exists for people in Coronation Street!!
