Mavis and Derek were lovely characters.

They were lovely characters ,I didn't appreciate it at the time ,but they were brilliant together him being a bit of a pompous old fool you and Mavis being a bit a gossip and dithery it's a shame they can't have storylines like that now .

The current scriptwriters should turn Brian and Cathy into the modern day Derek and Mavis.

Oh no I'm going to miss it!

I always record the afternoon showing and the repeat showing at 6am the following morning.

That way, if they've messed about with the afternoon times (or put racing on) I've always got a backup recording.

I can't because I live outside the uk and we can only watch itv channels live. In a way its quite realistic, missing things because of not being able to record. But missing the death of Derek was upsetting!

I'm loving the scenes with Mavis and Rita, so heartbreaking. Its nice to see Mavis be something other than dithery and offended. Thelma Barlow is a very good actress.

Bloody hell - Terry put on more weight in nine months than Tricia did!

Wtf is going on at the hospital. 2 Corrie people taken in and Martin WAS OFF DUTY!! 😲

Ah but he did know the nurse of course ,when I was a nurse there was 6000 employees in the trust I worked for 😂

It does make me laugh that Martin knows everyone in the hospital and works in every department ,even 20 odd years ago ,hospitals are / were like a town people tend to only know employees in there own area 😂

Watching those dramatic scenes on Weatherfield/Salford Quays last week, I really felt sorry for poor Amanda Barrie (Alma)

Those episodes were aired just around Easter 1997, so must have been filmed in February or March.

Can you imagine being sopping wet, in just a thin floaty blue blouse, on a winter night in Manchester? The poor woman must have been frozen! Talk about suffering for your art

And did anyone else notice the big hole in the rear panel of the Sierra taxi, where the number plate had been removed?

That would have been where the arm of the hydraulic ram would have been inserted, to launch the car into the water. It didn't really just drive over the edge of the quay!

Did they really not expect that anyone would notice that? Cars don't usually have a whacking big hole in the bodywork hiding behind the number plate!
