I have had quite a bit of the Aldi Fake Pimms this week, won't be as nice when it's raining.

Yes it could be the Delpo QF? Hope so. Even though I was sad Delpo lost.

Private no-one should have lost that match. It was everything- a great match played in the most sporting way, between two players with a genuine respect for each other. It is my favourite non-final. I even loved the Murray commentary- because he knew when to be quiet, and made sense when he spoke.

(The fact I had to watch it in DD1's stinky room.... well that was not so great ).

Yes me too - it was Andy, Tim and Andrew Cotter (no labradors sadly) iirc? They were excellent and really added to it. It's one of my favourite non-finals too. Remember the hug at the end??

The hug at the end killed me. It was so genuine.

I am very disappointed, btw that so far Andrew Cotters labradors have not featured on the BBC thing. Mabel and Olive are the stars of lockdown.

Yes the hug! I was so conflicted because we had tickets for the men's semis and I was desperate to see Delpo who I've never seen play live, but also I knew Rafa v Djok would be a match (Djok was already through at that point - I think he beat Keith earlier in the day? Who had previously squeaked past Ernie on his hot streak to the 4th round!!)?

Ah 2018 was a great Wimbledon, one of my favourites of recent times!

Didn’t manage to watch the Sue programme last night - is the Rafa/Delpo match on tonight? Again I don’t think I saw this match as we were on holiday and it was on at the same time as England were playing in the World Cup. As a tennis fan I seem to miss quite a lot of important matches

It was odd, as I was (as I've said before) relegated to dd1's room - when she still had a tv . She's got rid of it now, which is a bugger, should the need arise in the future. The window was open as it was really warm, (and dd1's room was whiffy, as it was full of rancid goalie gloves) so I could hear all the cheering from people watching the football outside - as well as dh downstairs.

Then, of course it all went quiet, went things started to not go Englands way.

I was getting more and more excited by the Rafa match, as it was just too good. And I didn't want either of them to lose. It was the perfect match, on a perfect summer evening really. even if I was sitting in a stinky pre-teens room. . Unless you were and England football supporter, then of course you probably felt a bit deflated.

Fizzy I think it's just a rumour (that we started) that tonight is Delpo-Rafa - or is it confirmed does anyone know?! Just at the end of last night's programme it said tonight will feature "Boris Becker, Tim Henman and Rafa Nadal".

Maybe Rafa is going to participate in the wheelie bin challenge?!

Oh yes- we don't actually know it's that match do we ? it's just it's the only quarter final I can think of that is any good- and Tim commentated, so they will probably have him back to chat about it .

I can't remember a quarter final that Rafa lost , you see. Otherwise, they would probably show that!

Raahh I remember sitting in a bar in Mallorca surrounded by English football fans desperately wanting to watch the tennis but don’t think I’d have been popular if I’d asked them to change channels!

I thought I was very magnanimous allowing dh access to the tv that night (I was panicking they would get to the final- wouldn't it have clashed with the Wimbledon one?).
