I have had quite a bit of the Aldi Fake Pimms this week, won't be as nice when it's raining.

Private of course they were. It was never in the script that Simona would win in less than hour. Or win at all, come to that. Any more than Kerber, or Osaka or anyone else was meant to beat her

This is why I plan to walk the dog during the 'boring' bit of the Fed/Djok match. (not that it was that great- it was all just a bit long and I drank a lot of Pimms).

yes it was a weird final, and went on forever. I think Pimms was definitely called for! I haven't had any Pimms so far this year very poor from me.

Also can I just day it took my stupid iPad about 20 attempts to type the word Pimms it kept trying to write "ProNouncements" I haven't had any of those either

How do you get from Pimm to ProNouncements??

Just reading about Wimbledon giving prize money to everyone who would have qualified this year based on ranking - that's good I reckon. Also no ballot for tickets next year.

(I bet his protected ranking would have got him in- though how that can still be a thing, 3 years on from his initial injury, I don't know).

I didn't realise Andy could still use his protected ranking. I know there's a certain amount of tournaments they can use it but I thought there would be a time limit? Perhaps it started again after he last got injured (ie November??) but I don't actually know

I think AC should have done a concise history of Djokovic for anyone who wanted to know in the middle of the men's final

Private I'm not sure if Andy can, it just seems to me that he has been using his for a lot longer than, say Delpo did. I suppose he would have moved up the rankings naturally anyway, by virtue of a number of players being absent through illness/ injury.

I have just read that Djok probably intends to play the clay tournaments in the autumn- and skip the US open. He is very rankings driven. And since he only has 180 points to defend in the US, probably feels it is ok to lose that. Whereas Rafa stands to lose 2000.

Thiem is saying he will play everywhere.
