It's all explained here. I wonder how the Sports Turf Research Institute test these things. I'd love to see a documentary about it.

The differences in surfaces fascinates me anyway- and how they have 'slowed' down the grass etc.

I'm trying not to think too much about grass. My front garden needs cutting, and it's too wet to do anything with without destroying the lawn mower. .

I also love seeing when they completely dig up centre court at the end of the tournament, to start over. I mean , it makes me a little sad to see it, when you consider what has gone on over the fortnight, but I also think it is quite cool.

I think the umpire was too strict with the crowd. It deadened the atmosphere.

Dan approves - I didn’t think he would! Everyone feels obliged to do it now!

I know Jane - he kept telling them to be quiet and they weren’t making any noise - not compared to the rowdy lot these days!

I need to do something - I’ve been very unmotivated this week - can’t really be bothered . I think I’m behaving as if Wimbledon was really on when I spend hours on the settee and the house goes to rack and ruin!

They wouldn't put up with all the wandering about and eating/drinking that goes on in the crowds today. (Although Wimbledon is nowhere near as bad as the US Open for this).

Fizzy I have had a rubbish week. I am feeling resentful that everyone is in my house and doing bugger all . DD2 has been ill. Dh is getting on my every last nerve. I am grumpy.

Oh yes Andy's greatest hits is on isn't it. I'll probably watch that. And I've got 2 podcast episodes to catch up with. So that should tide me over I suppose.
