We have been discussing the series Our Girl since the first one aired in 2014 and are now on number 56! Occasionally between discussions of Our Girl, we watch the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Evening - Elvis has just introduced Maisie and they are still being prickly towards each other.

Didn't like the way Maisie called Georgie Doris.

Maisie is extremely gobby!

In reality, do you think they would really send somebody so obviously new as Maisie to such a dangerous war torn area? Mind you, think about Molly going to Afghan.

Here we go with the next lippy private telling the boss what to do. Georgie doesn't like the way Elvis patronises her.

Wow, Maisie was difficult to warm to in these early episodes.

She is far too cavalier for such a dangerous assignment.

Oh Georgie really doesn't like Maisie. Elvis is trying his luck again.

Elvis is trying to make amends but Georgie is having none of it.

After the way the last series ended, it's difficult to believe this is how she feels.

Meanwhile back in Manchester....

Back in the UK, presumably in Manchester and Grace is just as annoying as she was in series 2.

Lovely CJ is on the phone - do you really think he'd call her? I wouldn't mind, if he needed me.

We'd all answer CJ's calls, even if we were on leave, wouldn't we?

Looks as if a mission out to the earthquake zone in Nepal is on the cards. Get your kit packed Georgie.

Yes, I always felt there was a yawning abyss between last series and this. Surely they had some conversation before she back to Kenya.

Yes eejit there's definitely some inconsistency at the start of this series.

Lots of nice location shooting - they had a bit of budget for this one.

Georgie and Maisie are unlikely to see eye to eye for quite some time. Georgie assets her authority and this does not go down well at all.

All aboard the helicopter into the mountains. I wonder what goes through soldiers' minds as they approach a disaster area like that.
