Our Girl Thread 56 "Stay Obsessed"

We have been discussing the series Our Girl since the first one aired in 2014 and are now on number 56! Occasionally between discussions of Our Girl, we watch the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

She is distraught as she tries to save his life. We know who she really loves all right.

We didn't know if he would live or not, but we hoped.

Poor Jamie - yes, I've said that about ten times this week. But he just wasn't the right man at the right time.

Jamie is left contemplating in the graveyard ad Georgie knows she has to come and explain. Jamie wants to finish Elvis off in his next shift. He probably means it at this moment in time too!

How can Jamie finish him off? He’s a paediatrician.

Anyway, it’s fins - she is the settling down type, just not with 7 kids.

This is the bit which doesn't make sense. Grace must be the most forgiving mother in the world. As much as you love your children, you'd still be a bit flipping cross.

Jamie was never going to be right for you Georgie. I wonder if he was a rebound thing?

The sisters are waiting for her when she comes back home. Grace is quite sympathetic. Max is too I guess even though this is the second wedding he's paid out for. Wonder what he thought when Marie got engaged!!

It's a bit late telling Georgie "Marriage isn't for everyone" after pushing her so hard to get married in the first place. What a U-turn.

So, Georgie's got a couple of weeks leave going spare and so she heads back to Kenya.

Georgie arrives at the Kenyan camp. Nafula looks delighted.

Lovely ending, all tied up quite nicely.

What do we want to do next week? Series 1 with Molly and CJ?

So, ladies, what next? I was thinking series 3:1-4, miss out the broccoli and re-watch the last series again, to see if it makes sense (and the broccoli was all a bad dream).

I'll go with whatever you all decide. I'm happy with any of it.

Yes, I could go for that suggestion eejit. It's a while since I watched Nepal although it does contain 'that' child and Milan. Quite happy to not watch the other 8 episodes and be reminded of any CJ/Georgie shenanigans, clifftop jumps and red-misted SF Captains who leave nothing but a string of medals. Maybe we could save up series 1 for a lovely treat later ilove and rekindle the old magic.

Series 3 it is then. 9 pm next Tuesday?

Well series two once again proved itself as being a meaty one with real content and CJ still coming over as a fully functioning soldier. Elvis at his best in the end.

I like the suggestion as to what to watch next leaving out the irrelevance that was the last eight episodes. Good to go over it including series 4 before going back to series one which as Rhu so rightly puts it created the "magic" in the first place. Oh happy days they were.😢

Not looking forward to the creepy Milan and That Child, but is this the one with CJ and the goat kid?

I'll agree with creepy! When you think of Georgie with Elvis and even CJ (forgetting the reason why she slept with CJ), it is beyond belief why she was attracted to drippy Milan.
