We have been discussing the series Our Girl since the first one aired in 2014 and are now on number 56! Occasionally between discussions of Our Girl, we watch the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Ah, look at CJ's new little friend - animals, children and medics flock to him....

Gosh, I so don’t remember the soundtrack.

Rab is one of the better educated of the platoon, along with Brains.

They have to finish the journey on foot and are visibly shocked at what they see.

Love the way that little boy grabs hold of CH's hand.

Oh no, here comes creepy Milan.

Here he is - Milan is a bit tetchy with her.

Milan explains the situation in the field hospital.

I wonder what CJ's state of mind was on this tour. He doesn't mention Molly at all, as I remember.

I always think Georgie/MK comes across as very competent. I do believe she could actually do this.

I bet when they signed up, none of them expected to be building funeral pyres for all the dead bodies.

What an awful job having to confirm the bodies are in fact dead (though not sure how they could be alive to be honest).

Georgie and CJ have to inspect the makeshift morgue, while the squaddies show little respect.

Georgie is getting emotionally involved. Where is CJ to say "Repeat after me..don't...get...the...*...involved."

Argh! Obnoxious brat!

Honestly, those squaddies really behave so inappropriately.

Meanwhile Maisie wants to "encourage her" in a patronising fashion.

Thara is quite appealing at first but it soon wears off!

Maisie does make me laugh sometimes - "you give them cabbage, I'll give them sweets!"

Milan is patronising CJ again. He looks a bit stunned.

There is a cry from inside the building -off goes Maisie to investigate.

Aftershocks affect the guys in the camp. Must be quite scary.

Maisie and Thara hear a cry. It must be a child...... or maybe not. Could it.... wait for it ..... be a goat?

So they all let her go in by herself. Out she comes with a lovely little baby goat. Isn't lovely.

Isn't CJ lovely too.....ah!!!

CJ looks less than impressed when they all come to see what has happened.

Captain Sterm Face does relent ever so slightly and strokes the kid. Wouldn't we all want to be that baby goat?

Rab proves he's done A level geography whereas the likes of Monk has in fact no idea where Nepal is!

Meanwhile down at the makeshift gym they are having a workout.
