Our Girl Thread 56 "Stay Obsessed"

We have been discussing the series Our Girl since the first one aired in 2014 and are now on number 56! Occasionally between discussions of Our Girl, we watch the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Not back till Sunday Rhu. It's a long drive down here so we're breaking the journey on the way home and staying in Wiltshire so not too far from your neck of the woods. We stayed in the Cotswolds on the way down.

The BBC has announced this morning that they will not be continuing with Our Girl. So can't say I'm upset as only a return of CJ and Molly would have been of interest to me and that was never going to happen for all sorts of reasons. 😰

Ah, sort of sad, but we had a good run and I agree that I didn't really want a new main character. I think it ran it's course. We cross our fingers and hope CJ and Molly decided to give it another go and he got help. Georgia's story concluded with the promise of a happier future where she had come to terms with the past. So, I think that's ok. I'm glad it brought us many happy years of chatting on here. We will have to think of another candidate for discussion after Soldier, Soldier.

Yes RHU it has been a real treat over the years enjoying following this thread and joining in where possible. I think I am going to go back to only ever thinking about series 1 and 2. Enjoyed one and then gained knowledge in two that CJ and Molly had married and he appeared happy, and then we got to meet Elvis and all his shenanigans re weddings and Georgie and that ended with them sort of together which left it open for us fans to make up our own happy ending. The rest has never really gripped me in the same way.

Looking forward to when you all get back to Soldier Soldier as there is always so much going on there. As you say after that it will be thinking caps on to find something else to obsess about😳

With or without a further series, we have some great fanfiction and a few new authors have emerged recently too.

It's so hot and stuffy this afternoon and I've decided to watch the Military Wives DVD I ordered last week. So far so good, I'm enjoying it.
