We have been discussing the series Our Girl since the first one aired in 2014 and are now on number 56! Occasionally between discussions of Our Girl, we watch the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

I had that foxtrot one as an ear worm all over the weekend

Except when Dave and Paddy improvised

I've always found these simulated first aid situations difficult to take seriously (First Aid courses...don't ask)

Dave and Paddy were ace at making chest drains out of condoms etc

What was the lieutenant gutted to have missed out on?`

We meet Lt Hurst for the first time. I didn't really warm to him at all to be honest. He's like an enthusiastic puppy.

Prof makes his entrance...straight onto his nose. Still surprised about the glasses, but there you go.

Don't think Kingy is a fan of the new Lieutenant at all either.

Prof knows it all, but not in an arrogant way.

Lt Hurst is a bit of an idiot, far too enthusiastic and green.

Kingy's 'chat-up' line isn't working, is it?

No, I think Hurst is more like a spaniel or soppy labrador.

The lads are getting ready for a night out.

Kingy certainly has a unique dress sense!

Throbber needs some style advice - that is such a bad trackie top.

Apart from the trumpet which must be very annoying to listen to every day, why are Hurst's trousers cropped? He looks daft.

Kingy's tone is bordering on rude - Lt Hurst knows exactly what he thinks of him.

Actually Kingy looks the part in that karaoke bar!

Go Kingy - obviously a bit of a singing star on the quiet - certainly as good as Marsha Stubbs!

He may be a rupert, but he's about to stitch up Kingy ...
