Our Girl Thread 56 "Stay Obsessed"

We have been discussing the series Our Girl since the first one aired in 2014 and are now on number 56! Occasionally between discussions of Our Girl, we watch the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

The generator is held up by a fallen tree. Maisie is negotiating, very badly.

Maisie and Rab are tasked with finding out where the much needed generator is.

We are introduced to the evil Da Chan (or however you spell it). Maisie does stand her ground and is actually quite impressive, not being intimidated by him at all.

So Maisie is about to try a daredevil manoeuvre.

I absolutely love the way Rab tells the mob who Maisie is!

That bit where Rab talks about Top Gear is really quite funny.

I'm not sure I would want Maisie driving my car with such abandon!

And I thought Da Chan was in cahoots with Milan

CJ looks tired, careworn and distinctly unimpressed by everything. It seems as if he's fallen out of love with the army - or is it something else on his mind.

Love it when CJ tells him "Don't poke your finger at me!"

Da Chan approaches CJ and Georgie. CJ remains very calm given the circumstances. Milan appears in the nick of time to break up the argument.

Dear old Brains - love the joke about Georgie/MK's teeth!!

No point in slagging Georgie off to Brains, Maisie. You're barking up the wrong tree there.

That is a lovely view of the mountains. Now I'm going to be fair to Milan here and say it makes quite a change for Georgie to meet someone like Milan who is trying to do something as worthy as he is. He is a bit different from cocky, arrogant, yet distinctly fanciable Elvis.

Oh dear Da Chan is up to no good and Fara/Thara/Tara is falling for it.

Gosh does Georgie have to try to train everyone to be a medic, even Farah/Tara/Thara.

I did worry about Milan being one of the Maoists in Nepal, but I think that was too subtle for series 3

Oh dear, Maisie has now convinced Thara/Farah/Tara that she can do absolutely anything - not a bad thing to encourage her, but she's possibly telling her too much too soon.

Is it perhaps partly Maisie's fault the way she puts ideas into Thara's head?

Georgie really needs to put Maisie on a charge or report her to Kingy or something. Her attitude is beyond acceptable.

Georgie and Milan go for a walk round the ruins of the village.

Maisie is responsible for the Ibnoxious Brat being even more obnoxious than she was born.

ooh a question about marriage - yes I've nearly been married...twice.

Milan gets a bit touchy/feely.

Eeek, leave her alone Milan! Especially with one of your village elders watching! Touching is apparently forbidden!

Good idea Georgie - lets have a look inside a structurally unstable house after an earthquake when there might be......an aftershock.....ahhh!!!
