Tonight's was a bit heavy on the snot'n'tears, wasn't it? If anyone can devise a way of Fletch responding quickly and successfully to his treatment and stopping Essie thinking that she should be able to carry on life as normal whilst she's undergoing chemo, please implement your plan ASAP.

Medani's torso was the only redeeming feature of this episode. I've no idea what the pills he bought were - any ideas?

I thought it was excellent.

StandardLampski · 10/11/2020 21:02

They captured the eeriness of hospital in the early days... made me shiver....

TwoCupsOfLemonTea · 10/11/2020 21:04

I thought it was shocking, it didn't capture the panic or the urgency of the NHS wards ... didn't tick my boxes this evening and I was really looking forward to it 😟

Elderflower14 · 10/11/2020 21:30

I liked the ending... Won't say anymore! ♥ ♥ ♥

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 10/11/2020 21:38

There should have been a scene where Jac found out just how hard being a nurse is - even without a pandemic - after her 'how hard can it be?' comment.

Sooner Cameron goes the better, irritating little twerp.

Glad to see the back of Ric too!

Same... if it's for the same reason. Bye bye irritating weasel...
Elderflower14 · 10/11/2020 22:03

@Mixedupworld No... Not for that reason!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Optimist1 · 10/11/2020 22:36

Very sad to see Ric go, but the fact he was escorting that patient's baby to its family in Ghana was touching, and understandable. He always maintained a strong connection with his roots, didn't he?

It was a very powerful episode, but I thought it was well done, particularly as they've said they're not continuing the COVID theme in future episodes.

I really enjoyed it - if it's possible to enjoy an episode like that.
I thought it was really well done.

Spoiler Alert??? 🙄
FatimaMunchy · 11/11/2020 05:12

How did social services sanction Ric just heading back to Ghana with the baby? In real.life he would have been put in foster care at birth while his future was decided
Obviously reading too much into it.Hmm

I thought and same. They go to so much effort to make it as realistic as possible and then let some guy who has just had brain surgery take some random baby abroad!
SoupDragon · 11/11/2020 08:18

The announcer at the start said they hadn't followed NHS rules/guidelines . I guess this was one of the rules they took liberties with. Unusual for them to actually say this I thought!

I hadn't posted about the ending because I know some people wouldn't watch until today!!
SoupDragon · 11/11/2020 09:28

If it has been shown on TV as scheduled, it's not a spoiler though.

Putting it in a thread title would be mean but inside a thread (which people should be avoiding if they've not watched!) is fine.

CarelessSquid07A · 11/11/2020 09:31

It was a really eerie and somewhat scary episode.

Really well done I think. It is a pity its timing has coincided with the second wave and lockdown 2.0 as it came over as a triumph over the illness that is now bringing us all down again.

It's the first time I can remember them linking into real life so well to be honest.

Missingthesea · 11/11/2020 10:03

I'd like to know how they got the baby a passport!

Wasn't there a "3 months later" caption before that final scene? I could be wrong!

Optimist maybe, but they would still have searched for relatives in the UK to take him first, and there would have been the issue of his citizenship. He would have been in foster care while that happened. And would the word of s dying patient be enough to allow an unrelated person, albeit a doctor, to cart him off like that? I really must get a life. Grin

I've just watched, if I watch it late and come in the thread I expect things to be posted. Don't think you can complain about people discussing episodes that have aired
SleepingStandingUp · 11/11/2020 12:05

You're all getting stuck on Ric?? Really????

Sacha invited a homeless women home and had sex with her!!!!! Priorities people.

I thought it was a good catch-up, not sad to see Ange and Fletch end, and happy Hot Doc is back.

But frigging hell Sacha! Sleazy.

Wait...they had sex?? I missed that
CarelessSquid07A · 11/11/2020 15:23

It was implied. She was in the bed covered up.

But he was fully dressed at the end of the bed with his head in his hands.

I agree sleazy though and very unlike Sacha to exploit someone like that.
