Tonight's was a bit heavy on the snot'n'tears, wasn't it? If anyone can devise a way of Fletch responding quickly and successfully to his treatment and stopping Essie thinking that she should be able to carry on life as normal whilst she's undergoing chemo, please implement your plan ASAP.

Medani's torso was the only redeeming feature of this episode. I've no idea what the pills he bought were - any ideas?

@SoupDragon

I don’t think it is harsh

That's obvious.

Wow, never expected to get sniped at on the Holby thread. Thought it was a pretty easy-going sort of place where we were allowed to have our own opinion and that was fine, but clearly not. Hey ho, live and learn. I'll shuffle back to the Home and Away thread.
Optimist1 · 13/02/2021 23:37

@SoupDragon - don't you dare desert us! Your humorous insight would be missed, and I certainly don't have you down as a flouncer.

Oh lord, lockdown brain here! Above comment totally misdirected - please both @SoupDragon and @TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross stay!

Yes this. It's a Holby City thread. O know some issues or grief touch close to the bone bit everyone's opinions are about made up characters and script writers who do not listen to us nearly enough. Can we please chill and fantasise about killing Cam?
SweetPeaPods · 15/02/2021 18:36

Just caught up on last weeks episode. They can't get rid of Dom! It did look nasty though.

burblish · 15/02/2021 21:57

I’m lukewarm on Sahira’s return; I disliked the character first time round (how stunning is Laila Rouass, mind!), and can’t see from her first episode back that the character has had much personal growth in the almost decade since. Hopefully the writers will prove me wrong, though!

SleepingStandingUp · 16/02/2021 10:01

I just don't want her to be another hard nosed cow who comes to have a softer side over time blah blah Jac Jac. That's why I liked Mo, she was just such a good contrast, and Petrenko.

And her getting with Kian is too cliché too. What about blondie? Honestly she deserves a NOT-A-PSYCHO and we deserve toplessness from Kian

spiderlight · 16/02/2021 15:54

How long ago was Sahira in Holby? I've watched it from the start and I don't remember her at all! Blush

ChoccyJules · 16/02/2021 15:56

Doesn’t feel too long ago but time flies! She had an Italian husband, also a doctor, they had lost a child who went out to play and probably drowned. It was about their emotional struggles and whether they would end up together.

spiderlight · 16/02/2021 16:04

Oh! Yes, I do vaguely remember that storyline. Thank you. I recognise her with the longer hair now that I've googled her but I'm hopeless with faces!

ChoccyJules · 16/02/2021 16:07

For some reason I remember her husband more...Wink

Tragicroundabout · 16/02/2021 16:22

Hi new to this thread but long time Holby viewer (although seriously reconsidering this given the recent storylines). I think you're talking about Nina(??) who was married to Matteo. They were in it a couple of years ago. Sahira was a protege of Hansen and was in it around 10(?) years ago. She was married but had an affair with an Irish doc before leaving and getting Henrik in a bit of a tizz IIRC.

ChoccyJules · 16/02/2021 17:04

Blimey really, I thought it was Sahara with Matteo. My addled aged brain!

ChoccyJules · 16/02/2021 17:04

And obvs Sahira, thanks Ipad

ChoccyJules · 16/02/2021 17:06

I really hadn’t thought it was so long ago when she was in it, hence marrying her off to Matteo!

SleepingStandingUp · 16/02/2021 17:20

Oh hang on was her DH really hot?
SleepingStandingUp · 16/02/2021 17:24

Ignore me, should have read the rest
Matteo should come back and work with Kian

SleepingStandingUp · 16/02/2021 18:54

Roo mist be 48 at least. So Martha must be sat 68? Home and Away is 32 years old and she was never in it was she? So it must be 30+ years I suppose.

If she's 68 logically he's between say 32 and 26. They needed to make him look at least a bit younger

EBearhug · 16/02/2021 20:06

Who was the one that Henrik gave his Swedish dictionary to?

Also, I know that the incestuous nature of Holby's staff relationships makes it difficult to avoid operating on someone they're related to or have shagged or had other dealings with, but how come they're all allowed to operate on someone they're related to or have snagged etc? Surely it's unethical?

EBearhug · 16/02/2021 20:14

Roo was born 1970, according to one one source, which fits in with me having an idea she's a year or two older than me. Same source (home-and-away-soap-opera.fandom.com) says Martha was born c1949. Alf was born 1945. But a bit confused about why this is on this thread, unless it's all part of soap Top Trumps.

DioneTheDiabolist · 16/02/2021 20:27

That kiss!🤣🤣🤣

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/02/2021 20:29

I know! How did they do the bit when they were standing close to each other though? Was that filmed separately or was there a Perspex screen between them?

spiderlight · 16/02/2021 20:39

I knew they were going to do the stoma thing with Dom. I nearly posted about it earlier but I couldn't find the spoiler thread where a life-changing injury had been mentioned and I didn't want to get in trouble on this thread! I hope they handle it well. It's such an emotive issue for anyone, and particularly for gay men.

They film the room then film them with the perspex screen between them then kinda paint it together. Same as with Kian and Jac. And then they get someone on their bubble to do the kiss
