Tonight's was a bit heavy on the snot'n'tears, wasn't it? If anyone can devise a way of Fletch responding quickly and successfully to his treatment and stopping Essie thinking that she should be able to carry on life as normal whilst she's undergoing chemo, please implement your plan ASAP.

Medani's torso was the only redeeming feature of this episode. I've no idea what the pills he bought were - any ideas?

She just disappeared after the drama. I think there was a brief mention of her by her step dad when he was asked but that's it. She'll be back - Kian is back after a week's rehab for morphine addiction.

SleepingStandingUp · 11/02/2021 13:18

Haha yes. Th y could have at least pretended it was a reasonable time off.

How far is Jodie if he could see baby was a girl? Surely whilst all this was going on?

I really didn't think she'd actually be pregnant. Essie must be cursing him

spiderlight · 11/02/2021 13:47

They cannot kill Dom! With him and Jac gone it will just be a pure misery-fest.

The new nurse looks as if she's going to be fun (or possibly really irritating).

SleepingStandingUp · 11/02/2021 18:23

Hahaha yes it'll Def be one or the other, to he Extreme I think. I just hope she doesn't take any CamCrap

NymphInYellow · 11/02/2021 22:24

I'm pretty sure that Sacha had had a vasectomy. He was going to get it reversed for Essie, but she could see his heart wasn't in it, so they split up because she desperately wanted a baby. But then she married Raf, who couldn't have kids either.

SoupDragon · 11/02/2021 22:31

He did have it reversed but they then found out after trying unsuccessfully that Essie couldn't have children.

EBearhug · 11/02/2021 22:43

I don't think it's Sacha's baby.

Holby must be the most dangerous hospital to work in ever. Plus their security seems lax, given the number of times gunmen, suicide bombers and so on who get in there. You'd think someone would review things.

NymphInYellow · 11/02/2021 22:51

Ah, thanks Soup
I hope the baby isn't Sacha's. And I hope they don't kill off Dom!

I dunno, I wouldn't wanna be a police officer in summer bay
ChoccyJules · 11/02/2021 23:31

Bit disappointed not to see Slimey Cam get hit by the car as it went out of control, surely it could have been arranged? Am joking, we already have his death episode sorted...

EBearhug · 12/02/2021 00:07

Fair point, Sleeping, but at least they have sunshine in Summer Bay. I was going to point out that half of them are criminals there, too, but when you look at who has worked in Holby over the years, not least Cam, that's not much of a distinguishing point. I might have to think about soap Top Trumps categories...

SoupDragon · 12/02/2021 09:40

Eastenders is pretty grim - no one ever ends up happy there. On the plus side, you do get to come back from the dead occasionally.

SleepingStandingUp · 12/02/2021 09:53

Ooh top trumps!!
Likelihood to Die is Def a strong contender

percheron67 · 12/02/2021 10:01

Sorry to see Jac go - her one liners were music to my ears! Do hope Dom in not going out but the crash looked dreadful. Sacha really has got into a mess with the dreadful Jodie. Please, please, do not let the new nurse back - her strong and almost undecipherable dialect is migraine making.

You're not from up north then?
SoupDragon · 12/02/2021 10:46

I'm South through and through and I had no issues with the Nurse's accent.

SleepingStandingUp · 12/02/2021 12:25

I think new nurse might be what we need to balance the three lads. She's not gonna fall for Cam's smarm either

Agreed! She seems to be the sort to judge people by what they do, rather than what they say they are. Like @SoupDragon, I'm a southerner and had no problem understanding her accent.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 13/02/2021 06:51

Just caught up with Tuesday's episode - the new nurse seemed just what we need to balance out the three men. Her accent was not remotely undecipherable!

Best bit: Donna giving Sacha what for. His hangdog gloom is wearing really thin. Hopefully Dom's accident will snap him out of his selfish pity party and make him see how he's damaging everyone else.

I'm not sure I understand why Jodie hasn't been arrested for poisoning people. I mean, I know she has mental health issues, but does that really mean you can just attempt to murder people with absolutely no consequences?!?

SophieB100 · 13/02/2021 09:03

NotJac clinical lead woman is so going to end up with Kian isn't she? Which means (clutching at straws) we might see him shirtless again soon.
Please let Dom be ok, we can't lose him and Jac within a week!
And I agree that the baby isn't Sasha's.

SoupDragon · 13/02/2021 09:21

Jodie wasn't arrested because she ran away originally. Sacha and Mental Health Woman (Lucky??) seem to have decided to send the police away this time and try to persuade her to get help. Which went well...

It's a bit harsh to say that Sacha needs to snap out of it. His fiancée died on their wedding day and then he was plunged into the whole coronavirus thing. Donna is slightly hypocritical too given she is miserable and rude towards Xav's brother.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 13/02/2021 09:35

I don’t think it is harsh. He is grieving, yes, and I have every sympathy with him for his loss. But he is driving away everyone who has attempted to help him, and I think his relationship with Jodie was inexcusable no matter how griefstricken he was. He has absolutely used her for his own ends with no respect or concern for what that might do to her - and now we see the consequences of that.

SoupDragon · 13/02/2021 09:42

I don’t think it is harsh

That's obvious.

SleepingStandingUp · 13/02/2021 12:25

Donna has to be mean to Alex so she doesn't have sex with him.

Re Sacha, obv his behaviour - taking in a homeless vulnerable patient for sex - is abhorrent but I think the writers are brave to show how grief can absolutely change someone onto something unrecognisable. It would have been easy to do Sacha sad, Sacha gets lots of comfort, a chat on the roof, drinks at the bar where they all rally round etc. But grief isn't always that tidy.

However, this is what should happen next.

She survives but loses the baby.

(I do think it's Sacha's. If he was infertile he'd have said so. And she must be 16+ weeks when they were together. I don't think she was out having random shags at that point because she was so devoted to killing off anyone Sacha loves. )
Because she's in a bad way, they call next of kin and her Mom comes in. We find out why they're estranged. She finds out they had to do a hysterectomy to stop the bleeding and she breaks down. Her Mom relents and talks to her and convinces her to go into therapy. She sees Sacha to tell him about baby and renounces his treatment of her. She leaves. The end.

Sacha goes to the roof and HH follows him and they talk. Sacha cries. He agrees to time off. He calls Jac and agrees to visit her in Scotland with NotKian.

By the time he returns in a couple of weeks, Cam has been hit by an ambulance and is experiencing eternal damnation ChoccyJules style
