We have been discussing Our Girl from the first series back in 2014 and are now on thread 55!

Oh yes, though I have had it since the first series of Our Girl!

No, ilove, the whole of Series 3 wasn't bad - just most of it! The last ten minutes of episode 2, the whole of episode 3 and episode 4 up to the explosion - basically the Milan- and Thara-free bits ...
But then I'm biased. I never have liked broccoli ...

Ilovelblue · 18/04/2020 22:04

Tell you what eejit, I didn't have to think too hard to picture those parts of series 3 you enjoyed!

PS: I quite like broccoli but not the OG variety!

Ilovelblue · 21/04/2020 12:25

I hope this week's episode of OG is as good as last week's! Are we ready to tune in at 9pm?

Magi84 · 21/04/2020 13:33

Yes iLove I will be present and correct for tonight's episode. It's good to be looking forward to something and I must admit this series has really come up to scratch so far.

BirdieFriendReturns · 21/04/2020 21:30

Who is the actress playing the psychologist? She looks a bit like Liz White?

Ilovelblue · 21/04/2020 22:02

Gosh, only one more episode to go. I will be sorry when it's finished. Not entirely sure I'll be having withdrawal symptoms like I had with series 1 and 2 but I am really enjoying it. There's plenty of tension.

Looking forward to hearing what everyone else thinks.

I liked the appearance of Flash, the military dog. It reminded me of those photos of Elvis with that dog. Those scenes were never shown in the series unfortunately. Was it called Pyro?

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 21/04/2020 22:03

Sorry Birdie, I don't think I've ever seen that actress before.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 21/04/2020 22:05

birdie I think it was Liz White too. She's a good actress. Quite liked that episode and a mention of CJ at last!

StandardLampski · 21/04/2020 22:06

I recognize her.... not sure where from though!

Rhubarb01 · 21/04/2020 22:09

She was in Life on Mars as the WPC and lots of other things.

eejittwo · 21/04/2020 22:10

No mention of Milan or JJ though.

kazzaD66 · 21/04/2020 22:11

Still haven't watched any of it back yet, although I enjoy reading your musings Grin

kazzaD66 · 21/04/2020 22:12

What was the mention of CJ rhu ?

Ilovelblue · 21/04/2020 22:12

The less said about those two eejit the better. Especially drippy Milan!

OP posts:
BirdieFriendReturns · 21/04/2020 22:13

My only complaint is there’s only one clin psych in the army...and she just happens to be in Afghan! And her rank slides were that of a major, not a captain.

Rhubarb01 · 21/04/2020 22:19

kazza when Georgie had her evaluation and was talking about Elvis, she said there had been other people and mentioned Captain James. She said it was a rebound comfort thing. Definitely nothing serious. That was all. Just a crumb...

Ilovelblue · 21/04/2020 22:24

Have we come to a conclusion about Dr Antonio's part in this? More than just a pretty boy for our combined delectation and delight?

OP posts:
PapsofJura · 21/04/2020 22:25

Omg saw the trailer for next week 😯, can not wait!

Rhubarb01 · 21/04/2020 22:31

So ilove I'm still holding out for Dr Antonio not being a bad guy, just a doctor doing his duty even if Georgie doesn't like it much. Somehow, I can't imagine he is going to turn out to be Omar! She might think Dr Dishy is complicit, but I hope not beyond doing his job as a medic. Clearly, he does like the look of Georgie - just imagine how pleased Mama Lane would be for Georgie to bring home another beneficiary of God's pencil!

Ilovelblue · 21/04/2020 22:34

Rhu that made me laugh. I had totally forgotten about God's pencil. Gosh that was such a cringeworthy statement.

I reckon he fancies his chances with Georgie but do hope for her own sanity and self-respect that she repels any advances.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 21/04/2020 22:39

I'd like them to be friends so that perhaps one day in the future when she's a happier and healthier woman she can make a considered choice, if he's still interested. I think she could do worse...unless he's really a baddie - oh I do hope not Confused

Alwaysfrank · 21/04/2020 22:53

I'm a week behind - just watched last week's but sadly had seen a spoiler online so knew what was coming. One thing I've noticed is back this series is the soundtrack - much more of a feature again reminiscent of series 1, and they actually advertised it for sale at the end of episode 2. Perhaps they realised it was a false economy to scrimp on the soundtrack?

Rhubarb01 · 21/04/2020 23:11

Hi Always hope you are well! Yes, the soundtrack has been so much better this series. I've noticed that too. Everything about this series is so much better. I've really enjoyed it.

I've seen some very interesting theories circulating about next week's episode - all hypothetical but very creative. I'm genuinely looking forward to see how this is resolved, and I would love to be completely surprised by what happens.

Magi84 · 22/04/2020 08:38

Well I really enjoyed this episode. Lots of content. Beginning of hoping viewers will see Throbber in a better light and showing Cheese's hang-ups and attitude to the Afghans.

However where Georgie is concerned I'd have to admit that army purists, who have a far greater knowledge of military practices and regulations, would have lots to challenge in regard to her psych assessment and the rather rapid decision she is not suffering from PTSD as well as grieving.

I suppose it is fair to say lots of poetic (or tv) licence applies and of course it is not a documentary it is a drama.
