We have been discussing Our Girl from the first series back in 2014 and are now on thread 55!

I'm still having buffering problems and Blue is still negotiating safe passage.

Fingers hasn't made it. Georgie can't believe it and poor Prof isn't sure what to do - wisely he decides to give Georgie a few moments with her brother in law.

Poor Fingers - so sad.

Kingy has to tell everyone the bad news. Poor Georgie, this must be tipping point for her.

I like this scene where Kingy talks about Fingers. His comrades are truly shocked. Have you noticed how many other soldiers there are in the room? A bit different to the last series when we were down to about half a dozen soldiers!

Georgie packs up Fingers' effects. That reminds us of Molly in series 1 packing up CJ's things and being told to "sanitise things". As if CJ could ever have porn in his cupboards!

Hi waltzing. We also watched it on Tuesday but are doing a watchalong now to go through it again in more detail. We only commented briefly after the episode on Tuesday.

Feel very sorry for Lt Hurst - his Dad doesn't have time for him and he is struggling with this.

Why did they pair up Georgie and Prof as pall bearers? She's about 15 cm shorter...

I don't know what anyone else thought when they first saw the coffin but it looked as if it had had the Union Jack painted on it. I thought they draped a flag but this looks different somehow, as if it's been stapled to the wood or something.

At least Hurst's trumpet has come into its own!

I am guessing Kingy and Georgie have turned up at Marie's house because this isn't the house we saw in series 2 where Max and Grace live.

Not sure that Lt Hurst can really play a trumpet like a bugle without using the valves - that struck me as a bit unlikely.

Whose house is this? It's not the one her parents used to live in - or is it Marie and Fingers house?

I've just said that - I think either Grace and Max have moved or it's the house Marie and Fingers have bought.

Hearing Fingers' recording isn't quite as much of a tear jerker as Elvis' letter from the grave but it still tugs at the heart strings.

I'm no expert on all this but wouldn't Fingers have had a full military funeral?

Or did Marie just want something more private?

The chopper’s just brought them in - I’m that far behind.

I suppose the funeral is a matter of choice - Smurf had one, but I don't suppose it's compulsory.

I wasn’t sure what to make of the whole ‘beef’ between Monk and the Afghan soldier. I did wonder why they made a point about him looking at his watch during the repatriation.
