I thought Dan was going to make Kaya an offer she couldn't refuse, a lot of money and a flight to wherever she wanted if she had a termination. I thought he invited her to visit a site with him so he could persuade her in the car, but then realised how damaging that would be for his wife who was buying baby stuff and getting so excited.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/04/2020 13:32

I don't think Doddy is the father of the baby, but the police are investigating his death and have now made a connection between him and Kaya with his death coinciding with the date she got pregnant. I think more significantly the police are now going to connect his death with Dan in the same way to reporter did. They weren't bothering with him too much before - just another junkie, in the words of the newspaper editor. Now they see a link with Kaya they will be on the case. Whatever happens now, Dan is looking at a murder charge which might affect whether Kaya signs over the baby to him and Emily. Can't decide whether she's guilty or not - the carving knife and broken bottle scenes suggest she is, but who knows. Whatever - Dan is a murderer too so what's the difference.

Turquoisesea · 07/04/2020 16:57

I think the baby will turn out to be the neighbours and also the SW’s daughter will be the murdered woman’s child. I also think it will turn out Kaya is innocent and she was made a scapegoat. I am really enjoying it, thanks for the heads up that it’s on Sun and Mon next week.

Dieu · 07/04/2020 22:40

I think the baby will be Dan and Emily's. I really got the impression that Kaya and Doddy were just friends, but he wanted more.

There will be some reasonable explanation as to why Kaya ended up being blamed for murder as a child. Definitely a toxic mother anyway.

InglouriousBasterd · 08/04/2020 01:13

Wasn’t the SW saying that his wife was out of rehab and on the streets? That doesn’t match up with her being the murdered woman.

I also think she didn’t kill her, or it was an accident - that flashback showed Kaya crying and screaming, and she’s had her name tattooed and wears her necklace. Unless she’s truly a psychopath, I think she didn’t do it.

CoolCarrie · 08/04/2020 01:34

Shirley Henderson is too good an actress to have a small role in this, so I think there is a lot more to come out in the next two episodes.

CoolCarrie · 08/04/2020 01:36

Maybe the murdered woman , Neve , attacked Kaya’s mother , unlikely I know but it could explain the mother’s bad leg, and Kaya lashed out at Neve and killed her to protect her mother.

buytheworldacoke · 08/04/2020 09:06

@CoolCarrie it's funny you should say that, I was thinking after I asked about her injury I bet it's something to do with Neve. And I agree, she's way too well known to only have a bit part.

IntermittentParps · 08/04/2020 13:19

Totally agree. And yes, I think there's something behind her disability too.

Kez0777 · 08/04/2020 19:55

Wasn't Doddy dead before they went away to do the embryo transfer? So the hospital would have had to missed her being pregnant already?
Could have got that totally wrong though 🤔

horsemadgal · 09/04/2020 15:32

She was 3 months pregnant when she found out Doddy had died.
Not sure why the policewoman said/knew their relationship was 25 weeks ago though.
Can't wait for Sunday.

Kez0777 · 09/04/2020 16:21

Typical me getting it wrong 😁 I thought at the end where they were leaving the country it showed him in the water.
Had the police woman got it from the texts in her phone?

CoolCarrie · 09/04/2020 16:26

Do we know what happened to Doddy? How did he end up in the Clyde?

horsemadgal · 09/04/2020 16:43

Kez0777 it did show him in the water at the end of first episode. Not sure if it happened then or was just showing what was going to happen.

CoolCarrie no it didn't show us.

CoolCarrie · 09/04/2020 17:08

Thank you horsemadgal, thought I had missed it.

Sounsociable · 11/04/2020 21:52

I thought the police woman had transcripts of mobile phone convos between Doddy and Kaja...which would have been dated....?

Sounsociable · 11/04/2020 21:53

Sorry we've just been catching up!!

faithinallisee · 11/04/2020 22:20

Haven’t RTFT yet but we think...

Kaya is the twin sister of the murderer.

Also there are some massive plot holes:

Who exactly did they think she was going to go to the prom with? Why was she going to the prom anyway?

The clinic would have noticed if she was pregnant before doing the embryo transfer.

There are more but I’ve forgotten them!

Ginger1982 · 11/04/2020 23:59

"Who exactly did they think she was going to go to the prom with? Why was she going to the prom anyway?"

I think Emily thought Jack and her were going as pals but didn't realise they were 'together' until she told Emily and he told Hilary.

user5656 · 12/04/2020 18:52

I think the IVF didn't work but Kaya was desperate for the money so she had sex with Doddy to get pregnant again. The baby isn't Dan and Emily's, I'm sure.

Violetroselily · 12/04/2020 21:36

Wtf...I was not expecting that

Ginger1982 · 12/04/2020 21:40

I don't know how long Kaya is meant to have been in hospital for but there's no way you can sit on a bed with your legs pulled up like that after a c-section 😆
