Yay for more butterflies Grin

kazza I think you should definitely do the online PE lesson!

It does all seem very unreal Jane - I keep thinking that I should be doing lots of things in the house or garden but then realise I’ve probably got plenty of time to sort things out

magimedi · 23/03/2020 13:36

What would I give to have AC commentating on a live match right now!!

My house has never been so clean & tidy!! We've been virtually self isolating for 10 days now, out for a walk once aday & I'll go to the supermarket once a week &that's it. Both a bit too old to take risks.

Fizzywinegum · 23/03/2020 14:15

Hope you and your DH are ok magi Flowers

I’m not planning on going anywhere now apart from essential food (wine!) and a daily walk.

I haven’t yet got to the tidy house stage (mainly because I don’t really like doing housework) but I might be so bored soon that I have to do it!

Fizzywinegum · 23/03/2020 14:22

I would also give anything to hear AC ramble on about beards and butterflies!

I’d even look forward to watching Nick Kyrgios (or maybe not!) Grin

I'm saving this for posterity Grin. I feel the same tbh!

Soon even kazza will be wishing to hear those dulcet tones musing on seats, beards, picnics, etc Grin - ok maybe not.

Good news about the butterflies Jane

And sorry to hear about your DS' job Raahh Sad I hope they will work something out for him.

Our home school day started off well with some actual study, moved on to trampolining, and then Netflix Hmm

magimedi · 23/03/2020 15:34

Fizzy We are fine, thanks.

Not sure about Kygriios Tennis

kazzaD66 · 23/03/2020 17:06

You're right private
Not even in my deepest, darkest hour will I wish for AC [where's a disgusted, yuk MN emoji when you need one?]

Unfortunately, fizzy I was unable to do the school workout because the teacher has been experiencing technical difficulties Grin
In lieu of that, and because he was meant to have double games this afternoon, I made DS accompany me on a lovely walk around the village Wink
It was quite nice, apart from him striding off ahead all the time and then moaning that I was too slow, which he says would be rectified if I was fitter in the first place.

This may be true, but it doesn't take into account my dodgy back, arthritic hip, being 37 years older and having a stride length less than half of DS, who is now 6' 3" tall with long legs to match!
I could be the most aerobically fit 54 year old in England, it won't sort the rest out Hmm Blush

Off to see what Stan has been up to today Bear

magimedi · 23/03/2020 17:34

Would you like me to cheer up the thread with some AC pics, kazza?

kazzaD66 · 23/03/2020 17:40

No magi ShockGrin!

We went on a walk with our two yesterday kazza - it was like being out with two 6 foot tall toddlers! DS1 (age nearly 21) was asking if we’d brought any snacks about 10 minutes in!

I’ve been listening to a podcast (not the Tennis one) which mentioned a topless picture of Daniel Craig (randomly holding an old fashioned telephone Hmm - I’m off to Google!

BGD2012 · 23/03/2020 18:39

Glad for this thread!

Fizzywinegum · 23/03/2020 18:58

Hello BGD - hope you are well - please feel free to join in with the randomness Grin

JaneJeffer · 23/03/2020 20:56

Ah he didn't let us down BearGrin

Fizzy do not get me started on thr snack situation. Angry

I have already told them, several times, when it is gone, it is gone. I'm not sure they believe me.

I love Stan Bear
It is good to see he staying totally sane through all of this.

Grin
Raahh · 23/03/2020 21:01

And, welcome, BGD! < from a safe distance> Wink

kazzaD66 · 23/03/2020 21:27

Stan Grin Bear

BGD2012 · 23/03/2020 21:33

Oh thank you for the welcome everyone! I'll need an outlet stuck at home with 2 kids. X

JaneJeffer · 23/03/2020 21:41

We all need a bit of light relief at the moment. DH still has to go to work and it's awful to think he could come into contact with someone who has the virus so I need all the distraction I can get!

OP posts:
PrivateSpidey · 23/03/2020 21:59

Hi all, and welcome back BGD! Hope you're bearing up ok without any tennis.

Stan's photo reminds me of the scene in Home Alone where Kevin creates the fake party using the Michael Jordan cut out, dressmaker's dummy, etc Grin It has slightly the same vibe.

The snack thing - it's been the same here. My hiding places keep getting discovered. I've also said "when it's gone it's gone" more than once recently. And "I didn't buy those just for you, you know! They're for all of us!" And "if you're hungry, you can have some fruit!" Hmm

I also gave a stark warning that soon the only things left would be rice and lentils so maybe they might take it more seriously now!!

Luckily for me, I've got a couple of things nobody else likes eg hot cross buns. At least they do contain fruit (approx 3 raisins in each).

Jane sorry to hear about your DH, I hope you aren't too worried, but it's so hard not to isn't it. magi's positive mental health thread is really good Flowers

We definitely need Stan's photos right now!! Bear

PrivateSpidey · 23/03/2020 22:01

Fizzy have you watched any of Malory Towers yet? I saw the first couple of episodes today.

Fizzywinegum · 23/03/2020 22:44

Private no I haven’t had chance to watch it yet. Is it any good? I loved the books although they are very old fashioned. I’m still waiting for when I have all this time on my hands (although I’m sure it will happen soon Hmm) I’ve not got any plans for tomorrow (like most people!) so might watch it then.

DH is also still going into work Sad

We’ve been watching The Trip which is quite funny - it’s set in Greece which looks gorgeous and makes me want to go on holiday Sad

Fizzywinegum · 23/03/2020 23:09

Sorry that was a bit of a gloomy post - I think watching something a bit escapist like Malory towers will be good for me.

Do we need to be worried about Stan? At least there aren’t stuffed bears everywhere Bear Grin

I think I need to go to bed
