I'm trying to decide whether it would be worse to have a chaperone everywhere you go or to be a chaperone.

Gotta love Boris private
He's more Stan than Djok Grin

I bought Gin this morning, along with other essentials Grin
Mind you, I needed it. Only slept for about 2 1/2 hours last night......

Grin I like that. I wonder what Mahut thinks of that match these days? I suppose he's had a lot of success himself since.

kazza yes Boris seems much more Stan's kind of person doesn't he? I'm sure Stan would approve of his purchases anyway Grin

Good work with the gin shopping. We're a bit low on gin but have got some wine so should be ok!

PrivateSpidey · 11/04/2020 23:19

Huh. The Rogers Cup, the women's event bit, has just been cancelled - or should I say "postponed" until next year.

The men's event is in Toronto this year - it hasn't been cancelled as yet. But presuming it will be, it's the same tournament, just played across the two different cities iirc?

It's in August, so they are obviously looking pretty far ahead Sad

Just as I'm typing this depressing info, really sad, emotional music is coming from a film DH is watching Hmm

Not helping the mood, DH! Grin

JaneJeffer · 11/04/2020 23:30

Doesn't look like we're going to get any tennis this year at this rate Sad

OP posts:
PrivateSpidey · 11/04/2020 23:34

I know Sad

JaneJeffer · 11/04/2020 23:52

Fizzy I found a cake recipe for you Grin
It reminds me of a concoction DS2 makes in the microwave with Oreos and milk in a mug.

OP posts:
PrivateSpidey · 12/04/2020 10:00

Jane that cake!! Tbh I do get her logic about the basic ingredients - I wonder if it would work?

Fizzy I reckon you should try it and report back Grin

Happy Easter and I hope everyone has a good day. It's nice and sunny here so planning to do and Easter egg hunt later - don't think DS is that enthusiastic though!!

Fizzywinegum · 12/04/2020 10:34

I think I just spoiled the surprise by watching the video upstairs with the sound coming out of my speaker in the kitchen where DH was Blush Grin. The cake does look pretty good though!

I used to do Eater egg hunts for my DSs when they were younger - I think I enjoyed it more than they did!

Happy Easter everyone! Bear (no bunnies so bears will have to do!)

Raahh · 12/04/2020 10:40

No Easter egg hunt here- just a pile of eggs on the window sill Grin (the older 2 are in bedGrin) dd2 is the only one up.

I've been up since 2am, as the dog is really not well- he's having gland trouble and the vet (when we rang on Tuesday) said they were only taking emergencies. Well, now he is clearly in a lot of pain, and scooting everywhere, whining all night, and I haven't slept for days. So a 5 minutes job at the vet has turned into a possible infection and goodness knows what else. And more moneyHmm.

I'm a bit grumpy this morning.

Happy Easter. Grin

JaneJeffer · 12/04/2020 11:28

Oh poor doggy. Surely they'll not leave him in pain!

Happy Easter everyone.

OP posts:
Raahh · 12/04/2020 11:34

Jane I'm not sure what the logic is. I mean- how many emergencies do they expect to be seeing? I can understand they don't want unnecessary patients, but this could potentially turn into to something far worse than it needs to be.

The receptionist suggested we look up on you tube how to drain them ourselves ShockHmm Yeah, right. He won't let us near him. Tried that a couple of years back- the vet told us to leave it to the experts.(after we nearly lost fingers). I don't think a trip to A and E for me is wise under the circumstances right now either!

PrivateSpidey · 12/04/2020 11:44

Oh no Raahh! Surely that is an emergency now. I mean how urgent do they want it to be??

As Jane says, surely they can't leave him like that? Hope it gets sorted ASAP.

Raahh · 12/04/2020 12:01

Spidey I am quite cross about it (and very worried about the poor thing). At least it is cooler today- the heat wasn't helping. Dh is trying to find a vet that is open that will take him.

JaneJeffer · 12/04/2020 12:13

I would have thought vets were pretty essential. What's going to happen if farmers can't get a vet out if they need to?

It's so quiet here. Usually there would be cars flying by on Easter Sunday but there's no one about today.

OP posts:
magimedi · 12/04/2020 12:16

Raahh That does not seem right. Hope your DH can find a vet.

So quiet here today. Had a walk round the estate & glad Iwent early(ish) as it has clouded up here now. Going to be much coller tomorrow which will be a bit of a shock.

Fizzywinegum · 12/04/2020 13:34

Hope you manage to find a vet Raahh - poor doggy - they should still be providing a service.

We are just about to go out for a walk and it looks like rain Hmm

I’m trying to keep out of everyone’s way - I’m in a bit of a bad mood and feel as if I could fall out with myself! Maybe some fresh air (or rain) will make me feel a bit better.

kazzaD66 · 12/04/2020 14:23

Sorry to hear about your dog Raahh

Just put the shoulder of lamb in the oven to slow cook, it smells lovely already.

Still warm and sunny here at the moment, so going back out to read in the garden before prepping the rest of the veg.

Sad to see that Tim Brooke Taylor has died of Covid 19. He always seemed like a lovely chap.

Stirling Moss has also passed away after a long illness.

kazzaD66 · 12/04/2020 14:24

Happy Easter everyone Flowers

PrivateSpidey · 12/04/2020 16:32

Hope you didn't get rained on Fizzy.

It's quite hot here. We've just been sitting outside when cheesy disco music at started blaring out from one of the houses at the back - complete with Smashy and Nicey style DJ comments! We've heard him a couple of times recently - DH reckons it's an out of work DJ keeping his hand in.

I just came in when he started playing Dancing in the Streets Hmm

Shouldn't he be saving that for the end of the lockdown?! Grin

How was the lamb kazza? We're having basically a Christmas dinner with chicken instead of turkey - found some pigs in blankets in the freezer so took it from there. Weather doesn't feel quite right for it though!

magimedi · 12/04/2020 16:47

Shall I post a lovely Easter picture for you all??

Ihaven't forgotten my promise but could not resist this!

No Tennis? You can not be serious!
Raahh · 12/04/2020 16:49
Grin

I was scared it was going to AC emerging from an egg...

magimedi · 12/04/2020 16:54

I've promised not to post AC until after lockdown & I always keep my promises Halo

Fizzywinegum · 12/04/2020 17:15

Aah I love those bunnies magi (I was also nervous about possible AC picture) Grin

I didn’t get rained on thanks Spidey - there were some black clouds but it’s also been quite warm.

My lamb is in the oven - it better be nice - it cost an arm and a leg Hmm. I’ve got pigs in blanket envy now!

Watched a bit of JoN and ate an Easter egg earlier to keep up the Easter vibe!

How is Raahhdog?
