Oh I’d forgotten about the Bake Off kazza - highlight of my week CakeGrin

Mama1980 · 31/03/2020 18:18

Hi everyone, how is everyone doing?
Sorry I dropped out again for a bit, it's been a bit chaotic and we are on day 16 of total isolation now, haven't been further than my garden so we are all going a little stir crazy.....and no tennis to watch - we have started a tournament in the garden though 👍 Grin
I read today a decision on Wimbledon is due this week.

JaneJeffer · 31/03/2020 18:48

Hi Mama good to see you. Any chance of you televising your tournament? Grin

I love Hacker Grin and his devotion to Sue.

I am watching Holby - promised dd2 I would watch Bake off with her tomorrow (if she is feeling better).

JaneJeffer · 31/03/2020 20:42

Hope she's better soon Raahh

Thank you Jane she is a bit better today, it's good thing she isn't in school really.

kazzaD66 · 31/03/2020 22:23

I enjoyed GBBO tonight. JB's show stopper pub looked amazing! What on earth was that with Joe Sugg fainting Confused
Although, there's not much of him. His legs are like matchsticks! JB's reaction made me laugh.

"Oh dear!"
Probably thinking.....he wouldn't last long in my unit in the Balkans!
Grin

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing ok.

Mama lovely to see you on here, good luck with the rest of your quarantine. And your tennis tournament!

The Hacker photo made me laugh Grin yes he loves Susan Barker so much!!

Hope your DD is on the mend Raahh. I haven't watched Bake Off yet either - looking forward to catching up with it today some time.

Fizzywinegum · 01/04/2020 11:23

Joe Sugg looked as if he needed to eat some cake - he is very thin!

While some singers are doing free concerts on YouTube etc James Blunt has said that he isn’t doing that to save the nation’s sanity Grin

Raahh · 01/04/2020 12:27

We've just watched Bake Off -I really enjoyed this week. The fainting was odd. I did like Alex doing the Travel Agents as a show stopper- it just seemed so random, and ordinary. Grin.

It reminded me of when I was at school- when I was about 8, I said I wanted to be a school secretary (no idea why)and drew a picture (I remember the picture really well, it was of a person falling off a chair). I had to show it to the school secretary, who I was actually quite scared of Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 01/04/2020 12:42

That’s funny Raahh Grin - at school I used to draw the picture and then write the story. I drew a picture of a man at a bus stop and said that it was my Dad going to the pub. My parents were a bit embarrassed when they saw it at parent’s evening!

Any news from Wimbledon yet?

Raahh · 01/04/2020 12:51

Fizzy Grin That's funny. Grin

PrivateSpidey · 01/04/2020 13:14

Grin love these!

Nothing from Wimbledon yet I don't think. But I noticed the Edinburgh festival has been cancelled, and that's in August isn't it?...

Fizzywinegum · 01/04/2020 13:26

I saw that as well Spidey Sad

Wimbledon cancellation just announced Sad

Oh wait you’re probably all watching the wedding Grin

Raahh · 01/04/2020 16:12

Congratulations Hacker and Sue (though isn't Sue married? Grin)

Sad about Wimbledon, even though we knew it was coming, and they have just dragged their heels announcing it.

I read that Davis Cup is doubtful, although that its late in the year- which given how Spain has been affected by all this is probably a wise decision.

magimedi · 01/04/2020 16:15

Waaaah - just saw that news. But we all knew it was coming.

Doing OK here - did some jobs this morning & cooked a nice piece of gammon to have tonight & to freeze some for sarnies etc. Done some weeding & am now off to read my book.

Had a lovely skype with GC this am & littlest one tried to kiss the screen - lump in throat time. They are fine & I am so happy that they moved (early February) & now have a garden. That pair of rascals in a flat would be no joke.

To be fair to the aeltc, what a logistical nightmare trying to decide if there was a possibility of postponing, what to do about the ballot, people who have got tickets already for this year etc etc. I don't envy them having to make the decision at all.

Also, they are the first Slam to cancel. As of now, the others will still go ahead this year (although I doubt they actually will). So they are taking it on the chin IMHO.

Sad times.

Fizzywinegum · 01/04/2020 16:40

Sounds like a good day magi Smile. I’m just debating going for a walk - I know that I should but it’s cold!

I knew that cancelling Wimbledon was inevitable but I still feel sad Sad. I’m not sure if we will see any tennis this year - it’s such an international sport.
