magimedi · 29/03/2020 10:39

Fizzy

I didn't say I fancied Stan - still think he looks porcine.

Hell will have to freeze before I fancied Djock!

If this carries on for too long who knows- we might all become fans of Kyrgios.

Actually, no. No lockdown would be long enough for that to happen. Would it? Grin.

JaneJeffer · 29/03/2020 13:47

Never going to happen!

Grin I was going to say stranger things have happened... But tbh I'm not sure they have!

Hope everyone's ok. I've mostly been reading Malory Towers books this weekend. Looking forward to some more tennis player posts for us to discuss!

Raahh · 29/03/2020 14:41

I have officially turned even more sloth like than I was before this happened. My children are no better (but it is the weekend). They have got social distancing/self isolating in their rooms down to a fine art Grin.

I have promised myself that tomorrow I will get a grip on this, and get more orgainised.

I think I would probably find it easier to deal with, if I was on my own, to be honest Grin.

PrivateSpidey · 29/03/2020 14:59

Raahh we're the same. DS has been in his room drawing nearly all day and I've been doing nothing and neither has DH. All these people saying they're going to take up new hobbies, DIY etc - I don't know how they have the motivation.

Maybe tomorrow, as you say!

Jane yup, that's me Grin

I have, however, just cleaned the hob. As it was thick with grease, and no-one else is going to do it. Just keep using it, and commenting on the grease Hmm.

So, I feel I have achieved something. Halo

Fizzywinegum · 29/03/2020 15:38

Yes I think we’re all not killing each other by staying in separate rooms Grin

I’m also finding it hard to motivate myself - I went out for a walk earlier but it’s freezing.

I reread the first Mallory Towers a while back Spidey - I almost remembered all the words! Have you watched all of the series yet? I’ve only watched the first one - our iplayer is being a bit annoying!

magimedi · 29/03/2020 15:43

I've done very little today, but it is Sunday, a day off. For us old retireds it's probably a bit easier as am used to having DH at home 24/7.

Just had a real horror in that the boiler stopped & didn't seem to be working (combi). Panic, as it's arctic here. Iturned it off, left it for 5 mins, turned it on again & it's working. It's only a year old so just hopoe it was a silly glitch.

JaneJeffer · 29/03/2020 17:39

Hope your boiler keeps going magi. It looks like a lovely day here until you go outside and freeze!

This is so cute Bear

Hope your boiler holds up magi

We just had Sunday dinner and life almost seemed normal

Papa the man! Grin

PrivateSpidey · 29/03/2020 20:52

That sounds a bit nerve-wracking magi, hope it keeps going ok. It's turned cold here as well.

Loving Papa the Man!! And the quarantine meme Grin

We ended up having lasagne for tea, so saving the chicken for tomorrow. Monday roast - why not I suppose, but then I'll get even more confused about what day it is Grin

Fizzy I've seen 3 or 4 of the Malory Towers episodes - they're quite good in their own way, but quite different from the books. Good escapist tv though.

magimedi · 29/03/2020 22:44

Boiler still OK - just turned heating off for bedtime. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Scrap dinner tomorrow before I do my weekly shop on Tuesday.

magimedi · 30/03/2020 09:38

Boiler turned on fine this morning - what a relief!

Raahh · 30/03/2020 10:28

Oh that's good to hear, Magi.

My good intentions have gone out of the window, dd2 isn't well, and I'm listening to an 80s number 1 playlist on Alexa whilst dh 'works' (he hasn't much work to do, really, but most of his team are in the same boat).

The weather has turned, and really, I should walk the dog before it rains... but at the moment Duran Duran is cheeringme up and reminding of a time when life was a lot simpler than this. Grin. (Well, it was for me, I was 12, I can't speak for my parents!)

Fizzywinegum · 30/03/2020 10:40

Phew that’s a relief about your boiler magi

After not being able to sleep after 6am for the last few weeks I had a little lay in (I still might have woken up at 6am - the changes to the clocks confuse me - it’s a bit like Australian time zones!) and then decided to stay in bed a bit longer to read.

Hope that DD2 is ok Raahh - 80s music always helps - love a bit of Duran Duran Grin

Hope everyone else is ok - the weather’s a bit grim here as well.

magimedi · 30/03/2020 12:33

That's good, Fizzy. The clocks going forward always make me sleep a bit later & it was 6.15 this morning so I was most pleased. Waking at 5 & lying ther eis not good for anxiety but that ^seems^ to be better under control tthe last couple of days.

Fizzywinegum · 30/03/2020 13:40

That’s good magi Flowers

I seem to have reached a (mainly) calm acceptance of the situation which is much better than how I was feeling a few weeks ago.

In other news I’ve just hoovered behind some drawers in our bedroom - yikes the dust Blush. Sometimes it’s just best to leave things well alone!
