Anyone watched it tonight? Thought it was fun and well-acted, love Jason Watkins. Perhaps two hours was a bit long, but I'll be watching next week.

It's on Imdb for 3rd July this year.

Looks as if it should have been shown March last year.

I'm guessing something happened & the subject matter was too sensitive?

No. Just it clashed with grace and line of duty 😂😂

A social media influencer Rose Boleyn (Rosie Day) elects to have plastic surgery at a clinic run by soon to be divorced couple Al (Rhashan Stone) and Mariel (Sarah Parish). After tragedy strikes, McDonald and Dodds are brought in to investigate the clinic and its staff.

Note: The episode was expected to air on Sunday 14 March, but was delayed to avoid a scheduling clash between the start of ITV's Grace and Series 6 of the BBC series Line of Duty.[11] By June 2022, the episode had still not been broadcast, however it had been available to watch on BritBox outside of the UK. The episode was also released along with the previous two episodes of the series onto DVD in Germany.[12] ITV announced that the unaired episode would now be carried over to form part of the third series, being released as the third episode.

mogtheexcellent · 20/06/2022 17:00

I havent watched the new one yet as a tad busy and working evenings. For those with Britbox the new episode has appeared on there if you want to watch without adverts.

popcorndiva · 20/06/2022 17:05

Liked last night. Nice easy Sunday viewing

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/06/2022 17:28

popcorndiva · 20/06/2022 20:37

Though every time I see Alan Davies he has aged another 5 years. In my mind he will always be Jonathan Creek

diddl · 20/06/2022 21:15

That was quite a good one wasn't it?

"Bamboozle!"😄

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/06/2022 22:37

Yes always jc. Tho I didn’t recognise him at first

Wandawhochanged · 23/06/2022 12:57

We like escapism and trivia: Vera, Midsomer, Lewis, dear Agatha etc
But Death in Paradise and Dopey Dodds? No, too daft by far.

mum2jakie · 25/06/2022 22:54

Only just got round to watching the first episode of the new series. Loved it! Loved the little twists and turns and guessed the killer before the end!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/06/2022 11:49

Anyone watch e2 last night

im just starting it

mogtheexcellent · 27/06/2022 17:03

watched it this morning while wfh. kind of missed the reason why the boy was killed though as was juggling a complicated spreadsheet at the time Blush otherwise I enjoyed it. was good to see a side to McDonald with a previous relationship.

As you can imagine I like to have Tv in the background while working.

Archie (Paul McGann) had caused the death of a Dutch racing driver at the Watkin's Glen race in 1974.

The "boy" was killed (by Archie) because he was told this & Archie realised that he knew

mogtheexcellent · 27/06/2022 20:11

@diddl thanks! Its all clear now. The watch confused me.

Thanks for that @diddl

i wasn’t sure 😱😱😂😂

diddl · 28/06/2022 07:52

I did wonder if there would be actual proof though of what Archie had done so many years later.

Maybe there was or why would the guy who bought the watch have believed it?

Because Archie had supported that failed jewellery store for so many years and besides guilt, there was no other reason - that is how the old owner of the store knew. I think.

jay55 · 28/06/2022 09:13

I enjoy the setup of most the murders.
But the accusing everyone and getting it wrong drives me batty.

Can anyone remind me, why would the granddaughter inherit bellvidue and not Alan Davies, the son?

Did the mum never own it? Which makes sense reverts back to man and down to granddaughter, but if so, how would it have gone to Alan ever?

popcorndiva · 01/07/2022 22:59

I think the Irish Mans will stated that he owned Bellvidue and would pass to any of his descendants. If no descendants then it would go to Alan Davies. The girl was illegitimate so obviously only recently discovered it and came to investigate.

burnoutbabe · 02/07/2022 08:36

Thanks. Makes sense plot wise but no sense as an actual will.

(He was married wasn't he but with a mistress? So clearly another mistress out there to have another kid with who had only one kid.
Potentially he could have had tons of illegitimate heirs out there if he was putting it about!
Anyway thanks!
Will watch episode 2 now.
