Just seen that my post was 999, so though I should open a new one. Not meaning to tread on anyone's toes - except Gary/Ryan/Geoff etc.

Asha is so pretty.

Deadringer · 18/04/2020 20:36

Why on earth did the neighbours (new family) call the police, the party wasn't wild, or even loud.Confused i was surprised at how nice their garden is though, considering how awful their house is.

PinkDaydreams · 18/04/2020 20:41

Claudia really annoys me! I don’t even know why, she just frustrates me

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 18/04/2020 20:49

Agree both @PinkDaydreams and @Deadringer

Honeyroar · 18/04/2020 20:51

I agree with you all too.

NCTDN · 18/04/2020 23:12

@PinkDaydreams I think one of the reasons she is so annoying is that you'd never ever put her and Ken together.

PinkDaydreams · 19/04/2020 07:48

@NCTDN I said to dh the other day I can’t imagine them together in real life, I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks this!

CoolShoeshine · 19/04/2020 10:43

Ken would have been better off with someone like Audrey. Claudia’s just not right for the street. Hasn’t Ken’s character dated characters played by Joanna Lumley and Stephanie Beecham too? They’re not the type of women to hang around in a typical Manchester back street really. It’s like the writers have an idea in their heads that Ken is an ageing Warren Beatty type rather than a quite well spoken, bookish character that does admittedly look good for his age as he has his hair but not really to the extent that he attracts such women!
And the retirement home is ridiculous! Do such places actually exist? It’s like a luxury holiday, how would people afford to stay for more than a week! The producers should have built some more homes when they extended the street, that way characters like Ken and Claudia could have had a slightly posher home than everyone else, a flat in a converted warehouse for example, without it being too unbelievable.

CoolShoeshine · 19/04/2020 10:45

And talking of mismatched couples - I don’t think Toyah and Imran suit. She’s making his character boring.

Rafflesway · 19/04/2020 11:25

Oh yes! Definitely agree about Toyah and Imran.

She is seriously punching - he is HOT!

Roussette · 19/04/2020 12:15

Toyah and Imran are tedious and the most unlikely couple ever. When he was complimenting her about being sexy or something in the pub in a recent episode, it was cringeworthy

Deadringer · 19/04/2020 15:51

Agree that Toyah and Imran are a ridiculous couple. Ken and Claudia too. Poor Rula Lenski, she has always been so glamarous and fabulous, as a young actress she would probably have laughed (or cried) if someone had told her that some day her onscreen love interest would be Ken Barlow.

Roussette · 19/04/2020 16:09

Mind you... she was married to Denis Waterman so not sure that is strictly true Grin

eggandonion · 19/04/2020 19:42

Was it here I read that she shares an apartment with Maureen lipman, that sounds awesome. I wish people could find romance away from the street, even in Costa!

thenightsky · 19/04/2020 20:00

Is anyone old enough (like me) to remember her in Rock Follies? I loved that programme. She was glam one.

Clawdy · 19/04/2020 20:11

Yes, I loved Rock Follies! She was certainly glam, and still is.

ajandjjmum · 19/04/2020 20:17

Wasn't she in an abusive relationship with Denis Waterman?

Just decided to watch Wire in the Bloid from the beginning and who shoukd pop up in the first episode, but Nick (as Hermione Norris' brother.) I can't say he lit up the screen with his acting ( I was too busy lusting after Robson Green.)

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 19/04/2020 21:36

Nick will always be Conrad to me!

Deadringer · 19/04/2020 22:13

I feel a bit sorry for Nick lately, i know he is a gurning moany arse, but he seems to do his best to be a decent stepdad to that little lad.

TheSquitz · 20/04/2020 08:12

The problem with Nick is that the scriptwriters change his personality on a whim to fit in with a storyline. One minute he's scheming and stealing £80000 from Audrey etc then the next minute he's being a decent (if moany) bloke.

eggandonion · 20/04/2020 12:59

Changing his head every so often too! I didn't understand the stealing from Audrey storyline, it was weird. I admit I don't always concentrate! I'd like a nice cosy storyline for a few characters.
I wonder when we will run out of episodes.

Honeyroar · 20/04/2020 14:06

Nick’s always been a bit of a wishy washy character. He was a bit of teenage eye candy in the old days so it didn’t matter. Not so good now he looks like Pob’s grandad!

Deadringer · 20/04/2020 14:40

It was really out of character for him, stealing Audreys money, especially the way he did it. I can imagine him persuading her to invest in a way that benefits him, but to just take it like that, and to seemingly have no remorse about it, no way.

Roussette · 20/04/2020 17:56

I find Nick singularly unattractive, maybe that's just me.

Just for everyone on here, I have heard tonight's episode is going to be a corker!
