Just seen that my post was 999, so though I should open a new one. Not meaning to tread on anyone's toes - except Gary/Ryan/Geoff etc.

As much as I hate Geoff you have to admit he's a brilliant actor, the way his expression changes from joy to complete evil so quickly is frightening, the way he looked at Alliya was scary.

Yes, agree, and he doesn't overdo it with a daft grimacing face.

My husband was teasing me last night saying they might not be able to film it soon due to coronavirus and self isolation!

Honey one of the actors is self isolating. They have said they might reduce the number of episodes shown each week.

This kept me awake last night! All the old folk isolated, should Bessie Street remain open, will Dr Ali return to save the day. Or will we never know if it isn't filmed.

The BBC have just announced that they are stopping filming on soaps. I would expect ITV to follow soon.
They might realise people prefer less episodes, but better written

I missed that bit, I heard they were dropping to 2 episodes of Eastenders a week.

I'm pretty sure it used to be only Monday and Wednesday. Emmerdale was Tuesday and Thursday. Neither on Fridays. I am going back a few decades though.

Yes! You're right! Knew it was just two a week, couldn't remember when but now you say... it was never on a Friday, cos Friday was my clubbing night!

I think this is because they’re halting filming - there won’t be any new episodes for a while so they’re showing the ones they’ve already made at a reduced rate (2 times a week) to make them last. Presumably in the hope that they will be able to start filming again in a few months and there won’t be a “gap” when they have no new episodes to show and so Corrie drops from the schedules altogether. As these episodes will already have been written, there’s no reason to expect the standard to improve.

Anyone watching tonight? Geoff is about to explode and I'm not sure I can watch. The plate of food was my dad, Xmas Eve. I was 12 years old, I think.

Sadly it won’t. They’re just spreading out the episodes they’ve already filmed as they’re not doing anymore filming for the time being.
