Just seen that my post was 999, so though I should open a new one. Not meaning to tread on anyone's toes - except Gary/Ryan/Geoff etc.

I don't bother watching the scenes with the football family. I use the time to mumsnet instead.

I think there is something about soaps that make actors seem worse than they are. Ian mcKellan is a very celebrated actor and he was rubbish in corrie imo. Maybe it's something about the timing or editing or just the writing but it brings out the worst i think. Yasmeen was a bit rubbish, but now that she is in longer scenes and the camera is lingering on her she is really shining.

The footballer family house is very bizarre. It just looks like a TV set. Not a family home like the rest of the houses. I can’t quite pinpoint all that’s wrong with it but it just doesn’t work at all. The furniture layout, none of them look like they’re actually sitting at home in their own house when they’re on the sofa. It’s weird.

They sort of look like gogglebox people - They don't look at each other.

Toyah has never given birth, has she? the baby story was Eva's child taken on by her and Peter, when Peter thought he was the dad.

I’m surprised they didn’t make more of the wedding- a Barlow/Baldwin marrying a Platt/Tilsley is two classic street families uniting! Both characters were born into the show and have had parents and grandparents who were classic characters on the show. Plus it’s one of the rare weddings that went ahead without someone announcing why they shouldn’t be wed! They could’ve built it up much more.

Eva, who nobody noticed was pregnant... And didn't the surrogate have a miscarriage. It were a right mess.

I'd already forgotten that Sarah and Adam were married!

Geoff just reminded Yasmeen to sing the happy birthday song while she was washing her hands!

Coincidental or have they done a last minute recording and stuck it in to reference corona virus?

I think they just stuck the extra scene in. I think it's filmed about 6 weeks in advance

How on earth is this Yasmeen story line going to end?

I’m thinking there will be a mad dash to the airport scene with Aliyah trying to Get there with vital evidence that Geoff has been lying to Yasmeen before they take off.

Well Manchester Airport may well be closed soon. So no flying out of there.

Norris needs to escape before Still Waters is put on lockdown.

I think we’ll have to suspend our disbelief over the next few weeks - the characters are constantly in the pub or cafe, plus all the talk about travelling abroad! I hope they can keep filming during this time, they may need some hasty script changes if the elderly actors need to isolate.

It does, and it's not a set so I don't think it's going to be in it for very long. Ken will be back on the street with Norris before 2021.

It's nice to see Norris back.

I'd enjoy a week there myself but I think I'm not posh enough. The bar looks like an excellent facility.

Dull, how very dare you! An evening with Ken reading his purple prose,and the lecture on Joyce to look forward to. And Claudia will liven up the bar.
Shame that the virus will prevent a lot of social activity.

How weird I mentioned Norris in my post first thing this morning, and lo and behold, he appears tonight!

I think they’ll have to shoehorn some coronavirus stuff into the already filmed scenes. It must be a nightmare for them!

@Redshoeblueshoe I've just read that it was complete coincidence that Geoff mentioned happy birthday for the handwashing, the scene was written last year and filmed in January, but they are going to add in some coronavirus things. Yasmeen definitely didn't sing happy birthday twice in her head, her handwashing was far too quick for that!!
