Bittersweet as it will be the final series, and will also incorporate a tribute to Slugs / Michael Sleggs.

I can't wait, but sad it's the last season and Slugs will be a much missed character

Really enjoyed the first episode tonight. Thought their way of honouring slugs was very Kerry and Kurtan.

A lovely tribute, delighted they’re back.

It's so good. My parents live in a village very close to where it's filmed (one of the ones in which Kerry Mucklowe claims to have enemies, in fact!) and the programme is so acutely observed. Their village is like a weird mash-up of This Country and Midsommer Murders, without the murders. I can fully envisage the kind of miserable bugger who would park their land rover right where the filming was due to take place, as well.

I love This Country, so pleased we have a thread on it.

Strangely, I was a bit disappointed by the episode. It’s almost as if I knew what was coming - and the fact Kerry and Kurtan were apart for most of the episode it didn’t feel right. There wasn’t any Martin, Len, Mandy, we don’t even know if Kurtan still has his job!

It was an absolutely fitting tribute to Slugs though, I understand why it was the way it was. It just had a different feel to it with them not being together as much - I’ve got a feeling one episode Kerry is going to get a boyfriend or something.

I feel sad that Curtan got Kerry sacked, she was born to wear a high-vis gillet.

I missed Mandy with her nunchucks though. Hope we see her in the next episode.

I love This Country! So many people don’t ‘get’ it though, my DH being one of them so I can only talk about it with like minded people on here! Loved Kurtan having to turn Sue over with a snow shovel!

The way they portrayed Slugs death was perfect, a fitting tribute.
