As if Adam Lambert would lower himself to do Strictly...😀

He sells out arenas around the world with Queen and his albums sell in the gazillions. I always think of Strictly for those who need a career boost?

I don’t want any drag acts, Strictly would become even more of a pantomime.

I think they’ve asked Martin Kemp every series. Doesn’t he keep saying no? Shirlie might be fun though.

Horehound · 15/12/2019 22:42

Jonathan Ross would be great too

NumbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsStation · 15/12/2019 22:45

I’m going to give Shirl the benefit of the doubt. She could be off her coupon on pain meds.

Coz no one would really act like that on the telly box if they could help it...

But if you are going love, drag Tess with you. Although I reckon someone’s tried to drag away Tess before now what with all the missing Material on her frocks.

Perhaps they can employ the person who managed to grab Karim out of shot. Clearly a pro.

It’s a 10 from numbrrrrrrs.

lynsey91 · 15/12/2019 23:03

No I don't suppose Adam Lambert would every do Strictly but I can dream can't I?

Yes to Jonathan Ross and I'd like to see Chris O'Dowd too.

I'd like Shirley, Motsi and Tess to all leave. Shirley started off really well when she first went into Strictly, giving good comments and advice. She has gradually got sillier and sillier and more and more annoying.

I don't know if Motsi is a bad influence on her but this series she drove me mad. Jumping up and down, dancing around when she was meant to be watching the couples dancing. Screeching and screaming, making unnecessary comments about some of the men. She also was quite rude to a couple of the females, particularly Emma.

I think both Motsi and Shirley have been totally unprofessional although at least Shirley has made some sensible comments and giving advice unlike the rubbish that comes out of Motsi's mouth

Starksforthewin · 15/12/2019 23:15

I’m with you, Lynsey, the ghastly triumvirate of Shirley, Motsi and Tess all need to go. Craig for Head Judge, then bring Karen Harding or Natalie Lowe or even Erin Boag or Lilya on to the panel.
Some structure as to who dances what would be most welcome and get rid of the the awful Couples’ Choice.

I think John Barrowman would be a great replacement for Tess, or even Graham Norton. Someone who can ad lib and not repeat the same five phrases robotically!

Encyclo · 15/12/2019 23:19

I'd be highly surprised if they make many changes to the current format.

It's an absolute behemoth of a show for the BBC, I think it'll be more of the same next year.

I still watch mind, and whinge, while watching obsessively.

JumpyLiz · 15/12/2019 23:23

Totes irrelevant to the conversation but I saw John Barrowman recently for the first time since he’s stopped dying his hair and I thought he was...

Dave Spikey

VanyaHargreeves · 15/12/2019 23:38

Chris O'Dowd gets a lot of work in America.

Not really Strictly Sleb level

VanyaHargreeves · 15/12/2019 23:41

Madeley claims to have declined
But for years he was blatantly desperate to be on it. My theory is he asked for his daughter to have a slot as well and they said no so he declined.

Plus, Judy clearly too fragile to be a regular in attendance

Equanimitas · 16/12/2019 01:46

I don't really understand why being in Chicago makes Emma a ringer. All it means is that several years ago she learned two or three dances in one particular style.

Horehound · 16/12/2019 01:57

Jack Whitehall
Chris ayoade

VanyaHargreeves · 16/12/2019 01:59

I would LOVE Richard Ayoade to do it!

He'd never say yes though

Horehound · 16/12/2019 02:08

Oh I think he might! He seems up for a laugh!

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 16/12/2019 06:22

I agree about Tess, Motsi and Bruno; in an ideal world they’d be shown the door along with silly Shirley. I also agree that BBC are unlikely to change the format any time soon, sadly.

Perhaps they should rewind a few series and look at the show when panel was Len, Darcy, Craig, Bruno and there was no CC. That would help them change their minds.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/12/2019 06:50

I do agree about Motsi. I was an early fan but she seems to have got glitter in her brain since then. Way too shouty.

And I hated those encrusted claw like nails she was wearing for the final. Very distracting and not in a good way.

I’ve missed a few programmes and I may have to go back and watch the ones where Emmaton got through against all odds. I was delighted for her that she was in the final but I don’t think they were the most entertaining dancers. I didn’t get any sense of positive chemistry between them, after this I bet they never speak again.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 16/12/2019 07:26

Perhaps they should rewind a few series and look at the show when panel was Len, Darcy, Craig, Bruno and there was no CC.

Do you mean when we complained about Darcy, said Len had got grumpy and that Bruce should retire? 😂😂

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 16/12/2019 07:57

I'll tell you what bothers me most about Shirley and Motsi. I have always known that Craig is the judge whose comments matter and are most meaningful. But this year, I have also found myself actually listening to Bruno and nodding along occasionally. And what I have realised is that - compared to the white noise of Shirley and Motsi - he is actually quite perceptive in his critiques sometimes too.

Shirley could be, I guess, if she wasn't so erratic and didn't turn into such a dribblingly unprofessional mess every time Kelvin appeared. Motsi has not said a single thing worth listening to for the entire series.

covetingthepreciousthings · 16/12/2019 08:07

Yes I agree about Bruno too.

Has Motsi ever even referenced any dancing techniques or anything?

I quite like it when Bruno stands up and does a little demo out what he means, I think him & Craig seem the most credible.

I'd be happy for Motsi to not return next year, and Shirley, she was just letchy with Kelvin.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 16/12/2019 08:37

Based on the evidence of this series, I wouldn't be able to testify in court that Motsi knew any dancing techniques 🤔

In happier news, Monkseal's Final Recap Part 1 is up, and Pissy Gorka is on fine form Grin

ppeatfruit · 16/12/2019 08:57

To change the subject did any one else notice MV standing uncomfortably CLOSE to Alex in the Clauditorium when they all got together at the end? I noticed that A had moved well away in the next shot but MV had her arm round Katherine's waist. Hmm Hmm

Clawdy · 16/12/2019 09:23

Who is MV?

Clawdy · 16/12/2019 09:27

Oh, Michelle V. Had forgotten all about her!

ppeatfruit · 16/12/2019 09:32

She's still doing stuff for the BEEB , The One Show, and the radio, I suppose there is a contract that has to be fulfilled when they appear on SCD'

I'm gonna miss ITT Sad

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 16/12/2019 09:36

What's wrong with standing close to someone? It looks really cramped up in the when they're all there. Didn't notice anything about MV anyway.

I did notice that Mike had his arm round someone's waist at some point when they were interviewing him.

lynsey91 · 16/12/2019 09:37

I like Bruno. He definitely does offer a lot of good comment and consgtructive criticism about technique. He also makes me laugh. Craig can annoy me but he knows what he is talking about and doesn't wave a 10 paddle around unless he thinks the dance was just about perfect.

I will watch whoever the judges are next year because I love it but I really would be happy not to see Motsi back. I thought she was going to be great but, let's be honest, she is a waste of space. Without her Shirley may calm back down again.

Other series I have been ok with Tess. I know she has always annoyed many but I have somehow managed to sort of shut out what she says. This year her patronising comments have driven me mad. Even DH commented while watching the final (he never usually watches any of it). He said "Why does Tess talk to everyone as though they are 5 years old"?
